I always like to imagine that there is some magical secret meanings to all the various shield patterns, even the simple bar shields.

Old old old Needham Brothers whittler. This thing is so delicate and the red stag is so thin, it's amazing that it has made it to now. Being a pre-1890 Sheffield knife, it's also amazing that the perfect bar shield on this knife still fits perfectly on the stag with no gaps. The rest of the knife has taken a beating but the shield still looks as if it was fitted days ago.

Beautiful knives guys. Here is one more bar shield. The knife has a most unusual flexible spatula attachment. We saw one like it elsewhere... I think it was Kerry who posted it.
