BRKT fan boy I take it? I don't know if this is the case or not but, I find fan boys never like anything negative said about the companies they have invested their hard earned money on.

BRKT hater I take it? The exact same thing you say about "fan boys" can be said of the "haters". See how that works? Rarely are things ever the extreme the extremists will say. So, blanket statements and putting words in everyone's mouth is a little silly. And all this in a necro-thread? If you feel the way you do why not start your own complaint thread?

The paranoid voice in the back of my head wonders if they are all by the same person who manages to get back with a new name to continue his/her attention grubbing. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean it doesn't happen!

(I was wondering this myself, actually!)

Actually not really. I was about to buy a Gunny S35VN before I found a mountain of bad about Mike Stewart and BRKT in general. I found the mountain after noticing large variation in the grinds of the same model on different sites and doing some research to be cautious. Glad I did cuz it turns out not only are their QC and grinds terrible but, their customer service is pretty terrible too. If you get a good one however, they can be quite nice but, I don't deal with companies like that myself.

Like I said, a company's true colours are revealed when the s××t hits the fan. It's how they deal with their mistakes that matters. To me anyway.

So, you have no experience with them other than here on the internet and you are telling everyone else how it is? Putting words in our mouths? Interesting.

At least in your last sentence you admit that all this is just your opinion, but you forgot the part where you have no actual first hand knowledge to base that opinion on.

I think BRKT will do just fine without you as a customer.

Lol, your pretty awesome dude. I am just smart and research things before I buy them so I don't end up supporting a company who doesn't treat their customers right, doesn't have good QC,exc. The evidence is all there if you just do some reading. Pictures don't lie man. This whole you need to own to have an opinion is getting old. A lot can be gathered from talking with other owners, examining in stores, borrowing a blade, exc. Buying blindly to evaluate is stupid and a waste of money if you ask me.

You must have got a good one from BRKT. I bet your opinion would be different if you got one of their many lemons or had to deal with them. The number of posts, pictures, exc. of the bad grinds alone is enough for me to stay away from BR. It's too bad because they make some nice looking models.

We all know Bark River is a shady company ran by a shady crew.

You did say that right (that's rhetorical, I know the answer, I even quoted it twice now)? You are putting words in everyone's mouth with no actual experience to justify it. See the part where you say "we all know"? That is where you implicate everyone here. And no, I have had no issues with my BRKTs. Sorry you have, oh wait, that's right, you haven't either!

There is a lot of personal opinion being paraded around as fact here lately.

While there have been and will be issues with Bark River Knives it's about how the process is handled for the customer. You don't order directly from Bark River for their knives, they are bought through their dealer network. If you buy a knife from us we can inspect it here, answer any questions, and take more pictures if needed. If we find a problem we will get it fixed or if you have a problem we will get it fixed for you. There have been errors in their blade markings, grinds, etc but we do our absolute best to make it right with our customers.

Mike may let his mouth get ahead of him but I think he has the best intentions and to call his crew shady too is a characterization of great proportions. All of the employees I have met have been nice, hard working middle class people doing the best they can at their jobs.

I think it should also be said that you read some "horror" stories bout their knives, which are the vast minority. We sell thousands of their knives each year, with only a small number of returns or warranty issues.

When someone tells you about a problem they had with a knife maker and you pass it on to someone else it is still a fact(of course assuming the person is truthful).

Anyway, what are we really arguing about here man, you keep buying barkies and I will keep not. Good day to you sir.

You are not simply passing it on. Look at what you said. Shall I quote it a third time? You qualified that everyone on here knows and agrees with your non-first hand opinion. That is flat out wrong. It is okay to be wrong. Just admit it and move on.

Take a look at what DLT posted. You see, they have actual experience in the matter. And the folks you are bashing with no experience of the issues you claim are hard working folks. Perhaps in your vast research you maybe thought about contacting a dealer to ask about the product? Maybe even have them inspect it for you?

Nope, just spread other people's experience as your own factual encounters on the internet and then tell us all what we know. Sorry, that isn't going to fly.

Thanks you for that post sir. That is some good information to know and it's good to know you stand behind the products you sell. I apologize if I was too harsh with my critique(a bit of a soft spot). I am sure there are some good guys down there at BRKT but, when you charge what they do and tailor to the high end crowd, you have to expect high expectations. Especially with so much competition from other knife makers.

This thread creeps along dying down and resurrected, with no new facts to justify it, just personal insults. Enough.
