Bark river knives?

Are you lazy? You want me to tell you something so you don't have to read? That's funny.

I'm the kind of guy that likes to get as close to the source as possible. A read it myself kind of guy.
You must be as this seems to be a near and dear issue to you. I will not read 17 pages of people like you mostly spouting off about Bark River.... Summarize or forget it.

You must hate it that some of our most reliable knife vendors sell their products and ultimately support Bark River through their sales.

If you want a great bushcraft camping outdoor all around knife ... I would highly recommend LT Wright ... DLT Trading or the Knife Connection has good selection ... and they are great knives ...

No I won't do either of your options. :). Hates a strong word, I'll tell you what I enjoy though; bringing attention to Mike Stewart screwing people over :D:cool:

Im not sure of your style, but I’ve been eyeing Gollik Knives lately. You can get great steel, overbuilt aesthetic, comfy looking handles, and seems to be reasonably priced.
Also been keeping an eye on Gollik. Have heard nothing but good things from those who have purchased here. Well built elmax knives and fine looking sheaths. Seems like you can’t go wrong.

A lot of reading time can be spent on Mike Stewart and Bark River.

Something to remember is that cutting corners doesn't usually result in products that or all bad or bad in every way. Instead, the proportion of product that is bad is some way goes up. Also, a corner-cutting business plan can't work if every dissatisfied customer is fobbed off with denials and excuses. Fans need to point to at least a few cases where the corner-cutter "did the right thing" or the word will get around and the corner-cutting business plan fails. Keeping in mind that some proportion of customers must be satisfied with the products of a corner-cutter will enable you to save time if you want to look at these threads to start learning about Mike Stewart & Bark River:

Thanks for all the help guys and girls. I've decided to go with a custom maker here. I actually sent one a PM tonight and I'm waiting on a response.
Let me know after you get the knife from whichever maker you messaged. If you like it, I will likely contact the same custom maker here on BF.

I'll definitely let you know, it will most likely be December- January before I order one. I was planning on paying off my car and getting a new knife with my end of the year bonus. Then, idk the turn around time of makers. This would be my first custom so I'm not familiar with the process.
