Is this not the giveaway thread? I'm pretty sure that you've all just volunteered your barlows, and I'd like to be the first to thank you all for your generosity. :p

Thanks Woodrow.

Charlie, you have inspired me to really appreciate these old knives, and for that, I must thank you.:)

Thanks Charlie, always a great sign when the man himself approves :)

And I have to agree, your enthusiasm for these great knives has really lit a fire under me for them.

Thanks Paul!

I'm sure yours will be special since you have impeccable taste in knives! :)

Nice Beerlows, Philllllll!
I especially like the TC, which I assume is Mammoth!?
Looks good on that knife!

Just got this today. It was an impulse buy. It's been carried a lot and used hard but the knife body was well taking care of. I'm wondering if this wouldn't be a good candidate to send in to case for new blades. Does anyone have a opinion about doing that?

Well.... not as flash as most knives shown here but an important part of the 'Barlow Story' the affordable Barlows that every barber's shop had in their front window in Australia and New Zealand (And I suspect elsewhere) in the 50' & 60's and introduced the man in the street to this wonderful pattern (Including me) Have a modern #77 "in the mail" and many more on my wish list.

Oh, my, I LIKE those, Brumby; congrats!:thumbup:
Who are the manufacturers? Is the sheepsfoot a Colonial? Does the bolster on the clip blade Barlow say Mark Twain?
Very cool! :cool::cool:

There appears to be a lot of use remaining in that knife, Rochauler!
I'd sharpen it and use it up!

Case redbone beauty at the end of the day:

Beautiful Red Soup, Sarah!! Hard to beat that deeply-dyed Case Redbone!!

Thank you, Charlie, and agreed! There's really nothing else quite like it; sweeter yet, when the gift of a friend.

Here's a more straight-up view:

Interestingly, this barlow seems to be of the same era/age as Rochauler1's, above-- note the forward nail nick on the main blade(s). Although, with a suspected production date range of 1940-64, it's a rather comprehensive era!

I think a lot of Red-bone Barlows were made in that Case era!
I can see why!:)
Wonder if someone will say that about TC Barlows 70 years from now?
:)
:D
