I'm with you!
Next up the guys who use their folders in steakhouses, who don't realize how dorky they look...

I'm a dork too I guess.I usually bring along one of my slimline trappers when me & the wife are going to the steakhouse.Never got any strange looks(& this is NJ!),have gotten a few compliments though.

[edit]wow, didn't notice how long & old this thread was.

So if I take it out of my pocket to cut something at work it's a weapon? Sorry, not in this state. I use my EDC at restaurants all the time everywhere I have lived or eaten and no one ever gave me a second thought or look. These states include PA., VA., WV., TX., TN., OK., MS., AL., MD., LA., KY., GA., DE., AZ., and AK. That statement is so general that it is without merit. Where do you live that you can not even use a knife in public?

He claims to live in North Carolina. Two major problems with this. First, to anyone that was born there or ever lived there, its Carolina. The other place is south of there. No need to add the North. There is only one Carolina. Second, as a Tar Heel myself, I've never had a problem using my knife in any restaurant. Neither have my gazillion relatives there. With as many times as I've used my own knife, and watched others use theirs, I've never seen anyone freak out and call the police. And even of they did, most Carolina cops would be more interested in comparing knives and asking how your steak is.

If the knife is legal and you want to use it you can use it. The police can't arrest you for legally using a legal knife. What's the use to have it legally on your person if it's illegal to use it?

most texas cops do'nt care what you carry
clean appearance & acceptable behavior is how you are treated
many times i've shown police some of my carries
some were really iilegal
being an older guy with amiable attitude
they handled the blades & said just do'nt use in a fight.
