BCCI forum??

I think Bcci needs to attract some new members. There is a lot of competition for business now days.

Well great to have ya m r! As far as attracting new members i have started by gifting Buck 110’s to my two sons last Christmas and a new slim for each this Christmas. Don’t know if that will translate into new members on here or BCCI but time will tell.

To add. Have you been on Blade HQ’s web site. Go to brands and pick “A” then scroll. My point is there are 100’s of knife makers out there it will blow your mind.
And Buck isn’t one of there maily advertized companies?

That’s the way it’s been since I became a lifer. Plumbrdv tried to rouse it a year or better before his passing. It got a little more brisk for short time

Well like i said if everyone on here that is a BCCI member just logs in once a day and maybe sees a thread they can contribute to or starts one it may generate enough for bcci members that dont know about this forum.
Maybe a thread letting everyone there know about this forum?

This thread prompted me to conduct a little experiment. I joined the Buck Collector’s Club recently. I too, didn’t see much activity. A couple of days ago, I posted pictures of a recent acquisition, and asked for information or opinions on it. After more than two days, I had one response, and it basically referred me to, you guessed it, Blade Forums! -Lance

I read the post on BCCI website.I gave my 2 cents about the knife in question.Thought I was doing the right thing by directing Lance to this site
How is that a bad thing to do?

Not bad. Just funny. This is where everyone comes to discuss Buck knives :)

I guess we should try to work both sites... nah

Not a bad thing at all! We’re just somewhat baffled as to why the answers, concerning Buck Knives, are usually best addressed here, instead of on the BCCI site. -Lance

I think different folks are comfortable with different venues. When I first joined the club,I asked a question on the club site and got a barrage of activity.
Some very active members have passed on so I suppose it is up to younger members to pick up the torch.
Also I think that maybe some long time collectors are getting tired of answering the same questions over and over.
There is a wealth of information here and elsewhere on the internet about the model 301 but I think you will find that 90% was researched and compiled by one man.

I get notices of 3 fb buck sites
Lots of activities there
But i see same post cross all 3
Boringly so... this fourm used to be a hot place ... i used to rase hell now and then... but i got old i guess... cant seem to get a rise outa anyone ...and the topics have changed hell the forum has changed..
Sometimes i think this forum is for younger newbies...esp with us old timers getting quieter...
I know i see a lot if new names and not many old timers ...
Some times i miss a good troll getting things stirred up...

I don't know the average age of the club members but I am curious. Collector's are different than consumers. Typically consumers won't have any input or join a forum. They just buy a knife that suits their needs. Special scales and steels dont have much weight in their decsion. People who have the blade bug will hit FB, forums and such. Materials mean alot more. But collector's join clubs, clubs typically aren't free. Maybe posting a picture of a 75 year old buck knife in the club site will get more reactions than a current production knife.

Consumer buyers probably make up 80 percent or more of Bucks sales. Standard every day product typically doesn't get much action on the Bcci site. But that old D guard Bowie posted on the club site will probably raise the roof,

110 Dave, don't tell me you actually miss 5135 and his dad verpil??? I think those 2 are what started to really harm this forum. It's going to take all of us to get it back to where it was or at least better than where it was...Everyone can't just sit on the sidelines and read what's going on, you have to join in the conversation and if someone disagrees with you, respectfully, then it becomes a discussion and I believe that's what this forum is all about? Isn't it?

Wow great read. Lots of great opinion. I knew a Bill Chamberlin in California i think. And i agree i too am starting to bleed dollars!!

David ,
I have spoke with you on the Bcci Site.
Unfortunately like stated their . When the people who run the club do not even use the forum . It will never get used . When a simple question like an update on a knife was not answered for days but answered within hours on the Facebook page it says something.
TBH I used the site for research about when I first joined. The discount is a plus, but since the have restricted alot of knives I haven't used it.
This site is great when you wanna share.
The Facebook page seems to be another avenue for selling which is a turnoff for me.
I know any activity is probably a good thing for Bcci. Just not what I was expecting when I joined that group.
