Okay well, payment sent again. This is resolved in my mind, Brian is just going through some crap, life gets down on all of us sometimes. I believe his apology is sincere and he appears to be a stand up guy. He went as far as to clean the knife for me before shipping and to let me know the head of the pocket clip screw is starting to strip out. He offered to cover the cost of a new one.

I am the guy he set up a trade with (supposedly), I haven't heard back from him since that day and I don't see an incoming package on MyUSPS, so maybe you didn't miss out after all?

I paid him a couple days ago. FedEx shows the package arriving Wednesday.

"FedEx shows the package arriving Wednesday"
This could be the reason it is not showing in halmics MyUSPS, but he should have updated him with all the tracking info.
I understand the sellers personal problems, but it seems he does need to up his game some and avoid these problems(on the exchange), or people will soon stop being understanding.

Fedex says the package arrived, I'm out of town until this weekend, I'll update then. My wife confirmed there is a package there though.

Like I said, it sucks that you didn't get a knife you wanted.

Seems a little melodramatic to say the dude lacks honor or integrity based on him selling / trading a knife to someone else.

Dragon_Man, I'm not being an apologist. On Bladeforums, at the end of the day the seller has the power to decide who he sells to. Pretty simple.

Sorry somber .. It has nothing to do with a knife . This is a character flaw . If you send PayPal info out that is proof that you accepted the deal . If you find a better deal tough . You live with it . We are talking chump change here . If people are going to sell out for a few bucks and it gets posted up here I am eternally grateful . Because I just found out how much you valued your rep . You want to sell your rep for $50 bucks ? How about $150 is that the value ? $200 .. Is that the price that will make you sell your reputation . Sorry pal .. Most of us don't sell our reps for for a few quarters and most certainly don't sell out for lousy knife .

. . .We can expect people not to screw up, but that is a pretty high bar. We are all going to screw up from time to tome. But when someone screws up and takes responsibility that is the best we can expect . . .

New Testament (abridged)

Well, I got a chance to inspect the knife. After one more hiccup Brian made it right. I left positive feedback.

Just wanted to take a sec and say thank you to all of the guys that posted on this thread, even those with colorful comments. I have learned several things about myself, other bladeforum members, and the forum itself through this experience/dialogue. Thanks to HalJordan for helping me stay honest. Thanks to forum members for messages of support. Thanks to other members for ass kickin' comments that kicked my ass. I honestly hope I haven't burned bridges here on the forum. I truly have a love/fascination for knives and want to learn more from other members over the coming years, but also want to be able to trade/buy/sell and do so in an honest and above reproach manner. Apparently I and God wanted me to go through this experience and I thank everyone for their patience and wisdom. Here's to better choices in the future both here on the forum and in all aspects of life. Thanks and God bless! Brian

What a wonderful read! :)

Great job, bdowens!!

Haljordan, I think a thread title change is in order..... ;)

"Look out for this guy!! He's AWESOME!!!" Seems appropriate..... :D

I agree, it is done.

Great to see this all worked out.

Maybe one day more people will realize that beyond the "drama" a lot of good things happen in the GBU, even if some of it may seem "bad" or even "ugly"
