Here is a BM 630 that dslteck did some work on.I dont know exactly what he did but I think it looks great.Note that I changed the the finish on the scales a bit in a attempt to darken the Ti.It smoothed out the finish and added a slight hue of color.

What happens if you bead blast anodized titanium? does it turn out like a sebenza type finish? Or does it not turn out well?

It removes all the anodizing and brings back the "raw" finish, such as the way the Sebenza scales look just finer

dslteck, you're phenomenal. This is a great thread and a great service you're offering. I want to send you a knife, but I also want to compensate you in some way. What's your poison? Scotch? Gin? Vodker (Tito's Handmade is personal favorite. Distilled five times, on par with Stole Elit)? I'm thinking of sending you my BM940. Like.. this monday. I say that Skirmish and it confirmed that I have to see a bead blasted 940 in my hand quickly.

You may not be a saint, but you're a king among men. Thank you.

LOL.....too funny, I do appreciate the kind words....but I wouldn't go that far!
When you are ready just P.M. me and we can set it up!

Probably a "dumb" question, but would you bead blast a Microtech Ultratech blade? I don't think you have the tri-tool to disassemble it, but maybe you do...if not then I'll figure out a way to get one myself. Thanks!

I have learned that no question is a "dumb" one!!!
You are correct I do not have the tool to disassemble it! I also ask people who send me work to disassemble their own knives.....so once you figure that out get with me and we can chat about it!!!

So could you stonewash a titanium kershaw tyrade?
Yes I can and IMHO TI looks great stonewashed!!
look here and let me know what you think!!!

With apologies to dslteck, I've been a bit lax with snapping pics of the last batch that came back to me weeks ago.

I did get a chance to take a pic of one piece.

Here's a Ti light where I asked for a deeper stonewash than my prior pieces (i.e. - like the bradley alias I scales dslteck did for me a few posts back.)

Here's a slightly "closer-up" shot...

Makes me wish i had something worth sending to you. I'll have to start looking for the perfect thing.

Scoob, as always no need to apologize :) I know how busy you must be this time of year ;)
Also, as always GREAT pictures:thumbup:

Wow dslteck, you are an amazing member! Very cool of you to offer this service! I really wouldn't mind to offer some kind of compensation. Feels almost wrong to me :(.

I was thinking on buying a Benchmade 551BK-101 Gold Class, but I did hate the black finish on the blade. Would your process be able to add a nice stonewash finish if I sent you the disassembled blade? Also how does it work for postage, how do we send a paypal amount to cover the return fees?

Thank you for the kind words! The blade would be similar to this one...... If that is what you are looking for.
As for as paypal for the return shipment.............I don't use them, so we will have to work out another way if you decide to have to work done-which we can work out via e-mail!
Just drop me a line when you are ready ;)

Wow that looks great! Will let you know once I bought the knife and I get it! Thanks!

dslteck,
First, thanks for such an altruistic offer! It's been entertaining watching the knives and various parts pre & post bead blasting. Your results have been very cool. Per email, I have a couple of pieces that I would like to see rejuvenated.
Thanks,
Chuck

Note: please excuse the lack of photography skills... ;)

Could you blast then stonewash an aluminum bodied flashlight? I have a Fenix Eo1 annodized purple that I would like to be stonewashed. The only thing I worry about is wheather the bead blast will be able to get the annodizing off the knurled portion.

I can certainally do that for you! The beads will have no problem removing the coating off the knurled portion!!!

You just pay shipping or what?

Yup thats all I require, is that you pay the return shipping costs!
