Bear Grylls is a Fake

I love that video, It was funny when his feet were burning in clouds of dry ice when crossing the lava fields.

:eek:Nooooo, tell me it ain't so!

Actually, my teenage boys and I watch it for the stoopud idea of the week.

But I have noticed that now, when we see older shows, they've done voice over explainations or disclaimers. Like his, IIRC, Amazon Raft, they tell you how long it took him and the crew to build it...

This was news about a year ago. Those that watch the show will still watch the show. Those that don't still won't.

I know the search function isn't available, but could we please stop

I just watched the first episode of the new season.
Methinks Bear has a pee-drinking fetish, lol.

Do all brits pronounce words like Bear?
Crevasse (with the emphasis on the *ssssss (rhymes with gas)
Dis-orientating (don't most people just say disorienting?)

He continually calls his ferro rod a flint.

Maybe i'm just being nitpicky but after you've counted all the survival mistakes you begin to notice other things as well.

And the latest word thing to annoy me-
Coyote or as Bear says it "Ki-o-te".

I have never ever heard anyone pronounce it that way.

Maybe he was talking about Don Quixote (of windmill tilting fame)!
lol!
:)

And i still enjoy this series (just for the nice visuals/geography/flora/fauna and the comedy value)

I watch the show more to see what he screws up then anything else. This week show when he fell down with the jungle robe you could see that he had a real rope tied to him. When he made holes in the shoes they where the cheap kind of shoes. The next time he was was by the fire he had the real jungle shoes.. Yea i still watch him, Heck atlist i can have a good honest laugh at him...

Do you mean like "kai-YO-tay?"

Or "kai-YO-tee?"

I say "Kai-YO-tee" with a soft "tee." Which is apparently correct, as opposed to "KAI-oat."

How does Tholiver pronounce it? Now I'm confused! :)

Edit: I've heard some Brits pronounce it "kai-OH-tee," with a strong "O" and a hard "tee," as if it were three separate words. Like that?

I guess bear pronounces it "key-oh-tay"

I've never seen a Coyote, as they are not native here and have only appeared here in the past 10 years or so.
They migrated here via iceflows/icebergs, or at least thats how the biologists explain it.
But i know of Wil-E. Coyote of Roadrunner fame.
:D
I say it "Kai-YO-tee", thats how i learned it on tv.lol.

I take my "VIT-A-MINS" everyday:D Regardless of the false-hoods and several stupid stunts, it's a very entertaining show...I would much rather watch Bear than Oprah:barf:

As much as I dislike his show it seems a little extreme to mock his accent... I mean I am Australian so I get my fair share of "G'day" jokes but you yanks have your special words too... and dont get me started on the whole metric system thing.

Its just good natured ribbing really.
Regarding "Coyote" thats not an accent thing, its a pronunciation thing.

(And come to think of it a friend of mine in Ontario is a Brit and a cartoon fan, i never heard him pronounce coyote the way Bear does.)

And as far as that goes EVERYBODY has some kind of accent.
I'm Atlantic Canadian so i'm familiar with accents, lol.
I can drive a couple of hours away from my home town and find accents so thick i don't have a clue what they are saying.
Linguists come here to study the unusual accents/dialects.
:D
