Becker 50-Mile Challenge, (Edit) Hereafter Known as the Move Your *** Challenge

Oh. OK. I watched all of 2 episodes of Lost, missed a couple and then was "lost", re: what the hell was happening". ...

I did the same thing when it was on TV. A year or two ago I powered through the entire 6 season series in a couple of months on HULU.
 
Looking forward to this. Gonna attempt a 5K tomorrow to kick things off. I figure I'll realistically need to get in at least 3 miles per day, to account for the days I have to work and may not be able to get to the gym, and the days I just lift weights instead of running.

Was thinking the same thing. Planned on swimming more too, but the swimming lanes are only out for training at Tuesdays and Thursdays, but next week I already have a full agenda on both evenings. As you said, some days don't allow you to do much so you have to compensate.
Anyway, Psyched to start out tomorrow!
 
Well, I think I am still in. I managed to wreck my back on Frnday, don't even know what I did. Coming around slowly, almost feeling a bit frisky today.

To all those folks out there who have or have had back pain, you have my newfound respect. Just tying shoes is a new adventure in pain. I once spun my left ankle around backwards so the foot was pointing straight backwards. That had nothing on this.

Situps, and flutter kicks start next week, once was enough.

When we post in the new thread tomorrow, I suggest we do so in this format:

[Previous day 1], did X miles in Y (where X is the distance and Y is the exercise), totalling Z Becker Points for [Previous day 1].
[Previous day 2], did A miles in B (where A is the distance and B is the exercise), totalling D Becker Points for [Previous day 2].
(etc on previous days so we can keep a log on each individual post)
[Current day], did F miles in G (where F is the distance and G is the exercise), totalling H Becker Points for [Current day].

for a total of [total Becker Points] as of [current date].

So for example:

November 10, did 1 mile jogging, totalling 1 Becker Points for November 10.
November 11, did 1 mile jogging, totalling 1 Becker Points for November 11.
November 12, did 1 mile jogging, totalling 1 Becker Points for November 12.

for a total of 3 Becker Points as of November 12.
 
Instead of updating a single post, I suggest a new post every time people mobilize. The frequent updates (I hope) will keep the thread alive and bumped up. Something like...

4 miles running and 4 points earned. 11 points total so far.

The date stamp will take care of the activity date, and I'm sure as hell not going to check everybody's math. Like I said, honor system is in play.

Oh, I ran two 8-min miles tonight. Last warm up.
 
I just went into the "Official Becker Fitness" thread, and it looks like a lot of the posts are missing. Not a thing in there about this challenge being proposed, hashed over and confirmed. Any one know what happened?

This was something completely different from that. This is something Biscuit cooked up.
 
Well it's almost noon on the 15th here in Japan and I'll be leaving for my first run of the challenge in 15-20 minutes.

I realize that, as I had a minor role in the cooking part. What I was getting at was the cooking started in the fitness thread and all posts relating to the challenge seem to have vanished from the fitness thread like a puff of ghost dust.
 
It's already the 15th here. This is my first run.
10 miles (16.1km) running and 10 points earned. 10 points total
This was my run today (I'll copy it to the thread that's closed after it's unlocked)
