I'm not a Beckerhead; heck, until a week ago, I didn't pay no Beckers no nevermind nohow :-O But that was then! Nowadays, I spend a lot more time than I ever imagined searching this forum and reading up on all things Becker related. That being the case, can I play with y'all? I just started two-a-day workouts, including swimming and jogging, as well as lifting, so this Becker Challenge falls perfectly within my Zone of Interests. What say ye?

You're in.

Here's the list I have so far. Good response.

I'm in Guyon.

Anyway I'm having some trouble finding a free app that maps my ride. According to google maps I rode about 9 miles yesterday. That's a lot more then I thought it would be, but it was also what I would consider a short ride.

Ya know what, count me in. Just downloaded Runkeeper so will put it thru its paces this weekend. Some verbal abuse from you all might be just the motivation I need to get off my lazy ass...

Check out Map My Ride. It's free. I use it for rides and hikes.

Thanks, Guyon! This is gonna be great. In fact, since I'll be hanging around with y'all at least for the next month (but probably longer) I should introduce myself on a new thread.

Ok so what about traipsing through the woods. I don't mean on a paved trail with all the soccer mom's jogging with their 3 wheel strollers, I mean actually bushwacking through the woods?

Unless you're doing it on two wheels, a mile is a mile is a mile (is a Becker Point).

What about on 8 wheels? (roller skates)

I'm just being difficult. I spent time in the woods with a 2, a bottle of jack, and a couple of friends.

I don't post here much, but count me in as well. I'll probably do 50 or more miles anyway, so I might as well ;)

Thats a warmup?!?!:eek: Sounds like death to me! (in my current physical state). I'm hoping to maybe get up to 3 miles at a 12min pace by the end of this LOL.

Yeah, but I've been working at it a while.

For a little over three months, I've been counting calories and exercising. At the same time, I did a C25K program and ran a 5K.
I've lost nearly 50 pounds, which helps with the stress on my legs, especially my knees.

Lately, I've been slowly upping my mileage, experimenting with minimal shoes (road and trail), and have been getting my times down.
The other day, I beat my 5K race time in zero drop shoes (7:49 min/mile pace). Today, I lowered my min/mile trail time by over 30 seconds. Ran the five miles in 9:21 min/mile on average.

Haven't run in months. Did a little over 2 miles today to start prepping for the challenge. More to come tomorrow. I'm glad I've been doing leg exercises, or I'd hurt a lot more...
