So, working in Chicago today. Took the train most of the way (read: through the bad neighborhood) then got off the train and walked the rest of the way. Put in 2 miles this morning.

Put in an extra mile today (beyond the normal treadmill walking), carrying one of those 25 pound green canvas WW2/VN vintage folding stretchers back and forth through a plague quarantine camp and then another mile walking back and forth along a 100+ yard trail a dozen times carrying a blanket roll. My props today as an extra for filming Revolution Season 2. We started before 6 a.m. and finished after 7 p.m. That thing got heavy LONG before lunch rolled around. I think my only camera time came while dragging along the trail following Elizabeth Mitchell. At least the scenery was good. :D

Do you get paid for this awesomeness? Eff it, I'd do it for free too!

Downloaded runkeeper and went for a walk to test it out. Worked well, 2.15mi today. Warming up for the end of the week!

Awsome! tell Juliet hi for me, lol

I'll try to do this but as I think about it, the dates coincide almost exactly with our deer season. Not all that much walking the way I deer hunt but when I'm not out chasing deer I'll probably be too tired for serious working out. So I should try to score on opening day morning and be done with the hunting part; right? I'm kind of rambling here and it's just my problem anyway.

Good luck everyone - exercising and/or hunting or whatever excites you this time of the year!!!

Yep, We get paid a whopping $8 an hour for the first 8 hours, then $12 after that. Guaranteed 8 hours if called. 11 hours today. Easiest day ever was when we worked for 1.5 hours (including check-in time, costume issuance, scene set up, etc). Still got paid for 8. Worst day was on in August when we started at 11 a.m. and I was released at 7:15 a.m. 106 in the shade during the day, 95 after dark and no breeze. One week, I worked 5 days, most weeks vary from 1 to 3 days per week. There's a lot of standing around doing nothing followed by doing the same thing over and over. It's definitely different. Learned a lot too. Will never watch a TV show the same way again. More details available via chat or emails.

So, I am getting geared up for this, this was for the last two days.

Elizabeth Mitchell's character on Lost... Lost was like crack for my wife and I while it was on TV.

Oh. OK. I watched all of 2 episodes of Lost, missed a couple and then was "lost", re: what the hell was happening".

On Revolution, she comes across as a paranoic b h, but in person, she is really nice and sweet and is never condescending to us "little people". Between the many takes we did for that scene, we had lots of time for "normal" conversations on a range of topics. One of the things about her was that she never failed to say "Thank you." to her assistant whenever she (the assistant) brought or took away her coat, coffee, tea etc or to the wardrobe/costume folks "fixing" things that the director said needed fixing.

Yesterday, I walked nearly 3 miles carrying that damn stretcher, a shovel and piles of blankets, and that camp is only about 200 yards long and uphill both ways.

getting ready, today was my 2nd time on the stairmaster at the gym...what a BAMF machine is that sucker, had me sweating like a rotisserie chicken by the time I finished 20 minutes. Tomorrow might take the bike out and check how does the app work.
