• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Becker BK62 Mod

Things have been so hectic I haven't even had time to sand and treat the scales on mine properly yet .. used it a couple times but not near enough yet ...

hoping things start to get back to normal (whatever that is) again now the holidays have passed.

I have never forced a patina always just let it come naturally ... but was considering trying it ... have a few other projects I'd like to try this year to if life calms down.

But I liked how you gave the scales an "aged/worn" look

Thanks man. The patina is easy. Clean blade with alcohol, dab mustard on, wait 15 minutes, wash off. Done.

Looks great! How did you get the sheath so light? Did yours just come like that? Mine's a deep chocolate brown.
Thanks man. I knew this mod wouldn't be for everyone, but I like it.

I took a key, and screw, pushed into it to make the marks/indentations, then lightly sanded it with sandpaper. I tried sanding where I thought it would age naturally, i.e, places like the "cup" where the knife handle fits. I then took a cotton cloth, and rubbed over it like crazy, to do a burnishing on it, to shine it back up a little. Easy mod really. You can see the back of the sheath is still dark, as I didn't do anything to it.
