Those are cool, you have my vote....but how about a patrol machete comeback? Those were sweet.
they'll need all new tooling at KaBar for that one - far too long.
maybe in a couple years? :>

Use it!!! Thin down the edge a little and enjoy it... They are a lot of fun...In these threads, I always have to be a jerk and mention that I already have a Brute. Neener neener!
The Brute is a great design. Nice knife. I find the sheath on the Camillus to be somewhat lacking however, and the coating on the blade is waaaayyy too soft. I've worn quite a bit of the finish off of the blade just taking the knife in and out of the sheath. Haven't even been able to bring myself to use it.
I only have 4 I'm not sure if I could part with one. You know the old saying if you have 1 you have none, if you have 2 you have 1... Well I guess it doesn't go to 4...I did this to myself.
Anyone have an extra?![]()
think of me if that ever changes. I enjoy unique knives. I suppose I could have someone make me something reminiscent of the bk1 out of .25" thick 5160 or something too.I only have 4 I'm not sure if I could part with one. no worries. I tend to be pretty fickle.I'm with you on unique knives. I have a Spyderco
Jerry Hossom Forester that popped up on the exchange a few years ago that always makes me smile.
I'll do some thinking about the Brute.
I have thought about making a "Tribute/Hybrid" based on a longer Patrol Machete with Brute style grind lines and a slightly longer handle.
The Blackjack/Effingham Brute has a lot more complicated grind lines.
I wouldn't want to step on Ethan's design rights and wouldn't do it without his blessings. It would be a single blade for my personal use ...
Poor form. Probably would have been better to not say anything than taunt him with your abundance.I only have 4 I'm not sure if I could part with one. You know the old saying if you have 1 you have none, if you have 2 you have 1... Well I guess it doesn't go to 4...![]()

That section is the “anvil.”Back to the knife.
My guess on the ungrounded portion of the spine is that it is to aid in splitting while batoning? You'd get the best of both worlds. lighter because only that section is the full blade thickness.
great now I want one even more if it's a hammer tooThat section is the “anvil.”
“The dedicated anvil adds the perfect forward weight and acts as a hammerhead in a pinch.” taken from…
