I'm stuck here in El Paso, but hoping to make the next one. In the meantime, there is a cooler full of some snacks on it's way to Vonore, and should arrive Thursday via UPS. Hope you all enjoy. If you appreciate fine meat products, you'll never eat another Slim Jim after trying these things...
 
I should be there later this evening. Myself and The Boy.
 
Ugh, I could have started a fight at school, been suspended for three days, and made this gathering. But my mom wouldn't let me skip the school. :(
 
Good news bad news for you guys wondering about Matt Tackett. Good news is I spoke with him on the phone today and he's still alive and kickin. Bad news is he will be out of town for a wedding and won't be making it to Ethans. He is also recovering from a hand injury but I'll let him explain that one. I told him we would be sure to hoist one in his honor this weekend.
 
We'll be leaving tomorrow some time after noon. Should be there on Friday some time after noon.

Yeah. I was home schooled at the time of the last spring Gathering, but it's too early in the year to miss a few days of school. We're only allowed to miss 5 day 'till the Gov't come and inspect our home. Apparently they seem to have more control over us than our parents do. :( If it wasn't for that I could easily get my Mom to let me come.

Can't sleep... feel like a kid on Christmas morning :D

I've decided I'm goin' old school this weekend... I'll be bringing a couple new things for input and critique, but for my personal use I will be carrying the very first knife I built from kit parts way back in high school. That should be fun :).

Glad to hear he's doing well. That guy's a hoot. We will surely make a toast to the master of selling the same knife 3 times to different people in one weekend :thumbup: However, by not showing up, I think that means he has to deal with the jimping and shipping on our collaboration project.... :p
 
Great googly moogly... that was a ton of fun. Everyone had a blast, nothing got broken and no one got hurt... unless you count a bit of face-muscle ache from smiling non-stop for several days in a row :thumbup:

Thanks for letting me be a small part of it again, everyone.

HUGE thanks to Ethan and everyone who showed up, and keep thinking kind thoughts for the many who still have miles and miles to go to get back home. :)

The weather was absolutely perfect and the company was beyond exemplary. I did not take a single dang picture all weekend... sorry 'bout that... I was too busy holding down the mountain and keeping a watchful eye on the beer/whiskey supply. But several other folks snapped lots of pics and I think some video, too, and I'm sure they'll post 'em over the next few days.
 
Home safe. Murph is home safe as well. Hope everyone else makes it back okay. Had an excellent time as always, and a huge thank you to the boss for once again opening his home to us and letting us camp in his backyard. Fantastic group of people and both myself and the boy had a wonderful time!
