By the way has anyone been in contact with Bob? Hows he doing?
I haven't been able to get ahold DB, been a long time since I've talked to him.
Make it so, durn it. While I understand a lot of work goes into steel/coating/locking mech/etc etc, I think you have to be honest and say that the most important component of a successful mass-produced folder like this would be is a unique look. Dawsonbob identified what already exists: the Campanion shape, already being leveraged again for the mini-Camp, along with the Becker handles are totally unique. It's like they're already done, and it's just a matter of tooling up. These things would fly off the virtual shelves. I'm actually kinda surprised that someone on these boards hasn't already cooked up their own real-life proto based on the perfect render above.
Oh snap! Some how I missed this thread but that is really cool. I would buy one or two for sureDid someone mention a Becker folder? Like a BK-2 folder?

I should have been working, but I whipped this up instead. Yeah, yeah, I know, the blade is flat. Actually putting a grind on takes more time than I wanted to spend right now.
Mini reality check- Folders are expensive. they are relatively hard to make. If this BK folder is made in America (and Uncle E won't have it any different) the price will be in the realm of large Sebbie or a Strider. It will be expensive enough to not be very popular with the blue collar crowd- the ones BKT sells to.
And then of course there's always the idiot who breaks his knife because he's using it for fixed blade chores and he complains that it's a piece of junk because he broke it while standing on the handle after he pounded it into a tree.
i have a Pecker folderbut i can't tell you about it. uhm. wait.
Yeah, Ka-Bar is generally excellent about that kind of stuff.well, i'm sure there will be a statement of warranty, and within that, customers will be taken care of, as usual.
anyone else will be uhm ... celebrated in appropriate fashion![]()
