On the subject of a user...
When you say signed, are we talking on the blade or backside of the scales?
Ok, since the beans are spilled anyway what are we looking at price-wise? I mean give me a ballpark here because in all honesty I was expecting a pretty penny to be charged for such a knife. It it will actually remain affordable that may just change my mind and I'll take it out and beat the crap out of it anyway![]()

ETA: And how about an Ethan Becker hair under the micarta...you know...for future cloning experiments.![]()
the blanks thing has been mentioned prior. no beans spilled per se. just clarifying that case... still and all, it's by no means a done deal until KaBar and Ethan and everyone agrees.
no point talking about prices or features guys. just bly sky wishful thinking and possibilities (except no custom choppers or such, that's not frugal)

I'd imagine that, should a Beckerhead Special wind up in hands other than original recipient, a virtual tarring and feathering might ensue.
With a designated, numbered blade, I figured it'd be just one per person.
BK-10 me. Camillus blanks means 01760-6C, so a less common steel these days. Won't be the Dan Maragni heat treatment, but I'll bet Ka-Bar can do something special with it.
I get emails from people that go" I want #232, thanks". I'll do a search and they have never been in the Becker forums before, they just want a number. I'll email them back with the reqs, and I get a reply "hell, I just wanted a number, not another hobby, keep it".

That's so we don't wind up with people with Beckerhead numbers that don't even have a Becker (you know who you are, but will you tell on yourself)
I'll have to take that as a yes vote. And yes, they are pretty sweet. This would be a chance to get a very unique knife available only to Beckerheads. Yes, there are plans to re-introduce the Crewman sometime in the future, but they won't be semi-custom like these, nor have your Beckerhead number on them.
This would be a limited thing.
Hey!!!:grumpy:
I bought 1.5 RATs this week!

Okay, since the beans seem to have been spilled, somehow, here's what we're looking at.
KA-BAR has a certain, limited, number of BK-10 blanks left over from Camillus. Remember, folks, there are a limited number of blanks available here. Now, KA-BAR could do a number of things with these blanks — and probably charge a pretty penny for a special run — but instead they offered them to us as a special Beckerhead run. They offered this because they're behind the concept of the Beckerhead group — we didn't even ask.
So what would it be? Well, as has already been pointed out, this would be a special limited offering of a knife like no other has ever been, or, maybe, will ever be again. These are the last of the BK-10's with 01760-6C steel, and I think we can certainly trust KA-BAR to put one of Toooj's superb heat treats on it. This will be a tough, tough knife, people. Even if they just slapped on some Grivory scales and simply let it go at that, this would be a knife worth having.
But they won't. These should have micarta scales, hopefully signed by Ethan. Ethan doesn't know about this yet, but I somehow don't think he'd mind the extra work it takes him to sign them.
How about the finish? Well, we're looking at uncoated, possibly vibration finished, blades, or perhaps with a coating other than black. That's not a done deal yet, but they'll be nice.
Each knife would be individualized with the Beckerhead's number.
All in all, these will be truly unique, individualized, knives — the like of which has never been seen before, nor which will ever be seen again.
It's even possible that we can score some original Eagle Industries sheaths for these. There are those who think that the Eagle industries sheaths were, arguably, the best ever made, so it would be nice to get them.
Remember, this would be a limited run just for Beckerheads, and when they're gone, they're gone.
Still looking for feedback here, so let us know what you think.
IIRC Westen used 01760-6C for their carbon steel and of course Camillus did too. Got a few Westerns and one Camillus knife made from it. Good steel IMO.
