Tore out part of the kitchen floor and replaced it today. What a giant pain in the ass. Our house is over 100 years old, so you know there's going to be problems, but damn. Wood was rotten city. Had to replace most all of it. We worked 12 hours today, and still didn't get finished.

Here's a couple comparison pics as requested of the Rat II:

With the Delica 4, Mini Grip and Cryo:

Closed shot with the MIni Grip and Cryo:

nice comparison shot!

All of those seem too small for me though. I love my cryo just wish it were bigger ...come on cryo 2 already.....without the speedsafe would be ideal...

I now know I SUCK..... I cant open my new ZT 0550...... I can left handed, and I can right handed with 2 fingers, but right thumb stud is a no go... Im definitely putting pressure on the back, I can see the problem lmao I just cant fix my technique.... I love this knife but I think I might have to let it go since I cant get it open comfortably and that really sucks because I traded off 3 knives just to get this one and it doesn't work well with me :(

Man I really don't prefer, or care much for, speed safe or AO knives either so I thought this would be the ticket..... looks like im a fixed blade type only guy.........

hey those knives are right up my alley, love that size and carry the exact delica... now with your comparison shot with the rat I'm loving it even more, nice and thin profile for the pocket.... hmmm..oh and I like aus8 I've had good experience with it and its a work horse

Finished up my slipjoint yesterday, not finished very highly though. Didn't have time. I also broke the scales when I peened the middle pin.

COOL!!
Yeah, peening is fraught. Epoxy is your friend. :-)

dude awesome slippy !!!! looks great and extremely functional.... hope you saved some sawdust to fix your crack :)

warrior, if only the house could talk, the stories to be told :D Yeah I don't envy flooring guys... especially carpet, my knees hurt just from watching :D

Thank you! I'm liking it so far. I hand sanded the edge thinner than anything I've made so far, and the snap is really nice. Not to toot my own horn or anything. ;) I'm not sure if I will be able to fix the crack without gluing the spring shut. :(

Damn, I wanted to go before I read your description...now I really wish I was there, that sounds totally awesome!

RKMOORE, glad to hear you are home and healing. hope it goes quick and easy for you. Where are you at, Dallas?

Yep, for now anyway. I've gotta stay close to Baylor and the docs while l heal up. I think I might get upgraded to a Rollator by the end of May but it's way too soon to make any predictions.
I did get to go to the mall and caught Ironman 3 last night. I know I pushed myself a little too much but when was the last time I didn't?

Good to be back,
Rich.
