It ain't a contest. It's about doing what you can do to get mobile.

Between the dates of June 1 and June 30, the challenge is to earn 50 Becker Points. Points can be earned in the following fashion:

1 mile (1.6 km) on foot = 1 Becker Point
4 miles (6.4 km) road cycling = 1 Becker Point
2 miles (3.2 km) mountain biking = 1 Becker Point
1 mile (1.6 km) swimming = 6 Becker Points

If you just do one thing, you'll need to hoof it 50 miles, or road bike 200 miles, or mountain bike 100 miles, or swim 8.3 miles. But you can combine items to build toward 50 Becker Points in any fashion you choose. Honor system in play.

The reward? You'll feel better, and you'll be participating with a group of supportive peers.

Get the new month off and running... yuk, yuk..

6 mile run at lunch = 6
1 mile dog walk x 3 = 3
3 mile run this afternoon = 3

12 ttd

Tomorrow will be just dog walking! lol

Wow! nice job! That is like a week in a day, lol

LOL! Yeah walking the dogs really adds up. We have two Rotties. My wife walks one in the morning and I look after the other walks.

The running is just me trying to get back into shape.

You seem to be hitting it pretty hard as well. How are you dealing with the heat?

I work out in the gym at 5:30 am :) but I do try to get a walk or 2 in on the weekends.. It is getting real here now, lol.. pretty much 99°F+ from here on out. I have lived here all my life pretty much and I am pretty acclimatized. I used to love being in the heat, but not so much anymore.

This morning I got 1.5 mile on the treadmill and 4.7 miles on the bike.. 2.6 + 2.4 = 5 ttd

Alright try this again this month...

Spent Canada Day at the zoo, probably did 3 laps, walked 5.4kms.

Last night a quick dog walk around the block for 1.9kms.

Total: 4.5BPs

Here we go, July!

I walked 1.75 miles yesterday, Wednesday, jogged 2 miles today, and walked 1 mile.

Current BPs: 4.75

I'm starting off this month racing. It's the one race I do a year (OK some years I do 1 or 2 others also). The Kiwanis Midnight Run in Dunedin, FL. They have three races and the last three years I've done all three races. There is a 1 mile, 5k and 10k. So last night I ran just over 10 miles with the three races.

10 BP for July

Thanks man - trying to recapture my youth and loose some weight. But I gotta say, I'm more impressed with the 15 Miller Ice! :D Hope you get back on track on Monday! Till then, enjoy the weekend.

That sounds like fun, both your tradition of running this particular race and the triple races themselves  If you don't mind sharing, what were your race times this year?

My results:

5k - 23:54 (last year 23:39)
72nd place of 484 men
9th place of 50 men age 35-39

10k - 51:39 (last year 53:06)
80th place of 261 men
14th place of 35 men age 35-39

1 mile time is unofficial since it is not actually timed - 7:10 (last year 7:06)

My 1 mile and 5k were a few seconds slower, but my 10k was about a minute and a half faster. Overall I'm happy with my runs. The 1 mile started at 11:00pm on the 3rd. The 5k started at 11:25pm on the 3rd. And the 10k started at 12:15am on the 4th.

Thanks man but drinking 15-20 millers ices is being a drunk POS. Though i love it. I'm 28 and ashamed of the condition i'm in. I'm a strong as it is but can get stronger. Running is something i'll never do like to walk miles but never run like to lift weights. Used to run faster than alot of people but mostly body just for power now. Can curl 40 lbs weights forever. No sh*t. Been a lasy b*tch though lately. Just puked and now drinking vokda & Mug RB. Not good in the least. Fun but not healthy for the body. But need the yin and yan in life though.

BTW like your Rotweiler.
