To all me fellow becker lovers; if you have a busse, i'd love to hear how they perform in side by side comparison

Edge retention, ease of sharpening, general usability

I know that Beckers are a MUCH better value for a pure user, but I'm considering investing in a piece of INFI, and you guys seem to be pretty much on my page with what you demand from your knives

Busse are tough as nails. Cool designs good ergos great steels. They do making knives right. Too expensive for me but that have just a loyal a following.

Yep, I'm a believer in overall value. I just don't think Busse knives offer enough value to justify the insane asking prices. I don't care if INFI is the best steel on the market (and it may be), they're not 10+ times better than 1095CV, which makes them not worth buying in my book. I do like the looks of the killa zilla and the combat gladius though.

Agreed, Bussekin can withstand a lot of torture. Many run on the thick side (1/4" stock or thicker).

Ultimately, I sold many of mine off, the handle designs on my models did not quite fit my hands right. That being said, they have many handle options, so I may have handled the wrong ones for me.

Looking at the new LB series TG, looks veeeeery tempting.

EDIT: Can you handle the knife before you buy?

Play nice. Have fun.

Consider that the warning.

How tough would INFI be at 1/16”? I don't see thin Busse knives so it's hard to compare how tough it really is against other steels. I see 1095 in thin blades and it works. It's also tough in thicker blades. You can buy almost the entire becker line for less than the cost of one Busse. I think it's hard to justify the price to performance ratio.

busse makes some awesome blades, ive handled a few,but i cant justify spendind that much dough on something im gonna beat the hell out of.and imho beckers have better ergos plus theyre one hell of a value.just sayin

This particular thread, has a better basis for discussion than the Randall vs. BUSSE thread. At least the designs share a common shadow, or silhouette. :D

Lemme guess, Killa Zilla what you're looking at, BePrepared?

You post stalkin be bro

lol.. but yes, I'm giving some thought to dumping almost a grand into a zilla. I fugure the Gucci bag i bought the wife last month gives me a little room to move

1 Gucci bag should give you around 3 Busse large blades, easily. I have a similar set up with my wife, 1 bag= 2 long arms, 1 wallet/ shoes= expensive knife or pistol.

lol. I'm working my way up to owning the full becker collection, but those are things i can buy with spare cash any time i want.

A Busse is a more planned purchase... and it's one that i don't want to get wrong.

Almost a grand? Yikes! You could buy almost all the beckers for that lol

BK's 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 5 micarta handle sets, Necker micarta, & 14 scales from Tomars = $691.94 shipped.

Add in a BK12 w/ micarta and BK10LE (at original price from Kabar) and you're almost on the dot.

Course then there's the tweeners (oops, Shorts) and the Machax.....
