i just want a toyota hilux in diesel :)
You and me both. We had a few of them on base at Kadena in the late 80's/early 90's and damned near every man in the squadron tried to find a way to get one home. My crew chief even thought about just buying a used one in Japan and shipping the drivetrain back home to install in his Tacoma. The local dealership on the island said it would be a pretty straightforward swap, but getting parts in the States would be problematic (and expensive) since US dealers were prohibited from ordering them and foreign dealers weren't supposed to ship parts to North America.

And our plan to just drive one up the ramp and cover it with a tarp for the ride home was met with rather stiff resistance by command. :)

Lots of people on this list seem to like Jeeps, my wife owned this one for 12 years. It is one of the 0.1 % of Jeeps that actually gets a lot of off-road use. We've done 4WD trails in Utah and Colorado. This photo is at a pass just north of Silverton, CO, well over 12,000 feet elevation.

I see a road there! That's not "off-road"! :D

Another Jeep! Here's my search response and weekend vehicle. 5.7 Hemi -- besides being a superlative off-road vehicle, it will do 100 mph+ before the end of the entrance ramp on the Interstate!

Good to see a Cummins in here! That's where I work man, very reliable.

Well in that case, here's a recent picture of my Becker Hauler.

I am proud to be in the apparent 0.1% who actually use their jeeps. I finally put some real photos of my jeep up, and thought I would share them.

This thing is my Becker hauler, and is what I usually camp out of :). Sadly only one almost "action" shot. The others are just stills of once I finally got there.

If my '91 Dodge was a quad cab it would be perfect. I do at least have a bigger diamond plate tool box than you do; mine's eight feet long.
