not so hot on the new style. Praying this is an April Fools thing. if not, guess I'll have to adjust.

It is going to take a bit of getting use to, but as long as most of the data remains intact, I consider this a step foward. I would suggest we emulate the old navigation buttons as well as we can; it has been a challenge to find some forums, or to locate and manage old attachments; and I am not sure where the New Posts button went.

The Manage Attachments link is missing from the CP user's page, and not all of the Forums are listed on the Forum (e.g Community/Political).

NEVER MIND....I have located the missing buttons and the new forum is beginning to looks like a definite improvement. Thank for the good work Sparks.

I like it, however I haven't been here long, and I thought the place needed an update BAD! LOL! I don't approve of the color choices, the text needs to be darker and easier to read. Everything is too much the same tone, it looks pretty but it's not as functional. I'm sure they'll figure that part out.

go button and highlight the name of the thread-starter would be a great improvment.

On another thread in support I compared the new format as being like a manual tranny on a new car after scrapping the old one with the automatic. I'm sure just like a stick shift, this one will get better performance out of this new format, but for now I am grinding gears and smoking the clutch:confused:

Interesting and effective analogy, Bufford. I agree with you, and I'm sure I'll get used to this new setup soon.

Doesn't seem so bad. One of the other forums I frequent has a nearly identical look. Now i won't get confused from one site to the other :)

I want my GO button back!!!!

There is a drop-down menu just under the page selector at the bottom of the thread that here says "Becker Knife & Tool". Just click on that button and scroll, it will take you pretty much wherever you want to go. Or to just go back to the Becker forum you can just click on "TOP" right beside that button and then click on the Becker link at the top of the page. It's not so bad once you get used to it.

yeah I hear ya. the quick nav feature sucks cause you have to scroll down so much to find the place you want to go

top takes you to the top and THEN you have to click on the Becker forum to go back

why not replace top with GO?

seems like adding steps isnt better

all my bookmarks for my own custom navigation are fubarred now. none of them workie. hell, they even changed in the last day or so in some cases...

change is messy.

i've been flat out busy with work (and my own website and code), fighting a cold, differences Firefox upgrade and tools i use, and other stuff, that really, i just don't have time for forum issues and such. they'll settle out while i'm gone.

Anyone know why some of the threads have red(ish) icons and some have blue(ish)?

Beckerhead #42

Red means hot topic, blue means regular....there is an icon legend @ the bottom of the main page for the becker forum.
