Nice. I just paid my dues for a gold membership just a minute ago. I figure it's worth it to boost the site, considering all the time I'm wasting spending with you fine folks on the board. Besides, I've got a few blades to sell in the B/S/T whenever I get around to it...

Gold level probably takes a day or two to kick in, eh?

It took 3 days for it to kick in for me

check your groups in user CP -- you have to manually change the group.
 
Crap, I had just decided to get my ass up and out to the yard to film a video requested by a subscriber, gathered my video gear, stepped out the back door and BAM - Rain.

I'm still arguing with myself. I have never paid any membership fees for anything on the internet, and I don't know if I like the idea yet. Plus the advantages aren't really of much use to me. Who wants to wait 4 weeks or more for a knife they bought from me on the Exchange? What good are PMs when you guys can write me e-mails whenever you want? I probably just need someone to sell me a bit on it.

Its got nothing to do with advantages, and everything to do with supporting this site.

Go to the top, and click on "settings". Then, on the left, you will see where it says, "Permission Groups", under "My Account". Click on it, then you will see where it says, "Identify me as a member of this group", behind Gold Member. Check it, then click on, "Update Display Group". You will now be gold.
 
I went the Paypal route, so it'll be a manual implementation. I'll just wait a few days and keep checking the permission groups.

my cheap and effective way of securing a mora....itw web dominator, webbing, gorilla tape and bike inner tube.
