Got me a decent bass today out of a local pond

kaysvillepond.jpg

Cool pic! I got out on my home lake today in a canoe with my fly rod. I've been fishing that lake for like 36 years now. Caught one decent bass (not as nice as yours) and four or five smaller ones, about eight or ten good panfish and probably three dozen smaller ones. That's some fun stuff!

What did you catch that with? I hope it was something cool like braided back hair and a carved up bone hook from the grizzly you strangled with your bear (hahahaha) hands the day before!:eek:

I used a huddleston grass minnow, damn things catch fish....NUFF SAID

Got a bottle of 21 Yr Balvenie Portwood from my chick this morning. She's a keeper. It's friday for me! Off to Dogfish Head Brewery and the beach in Deleware manana. Stoked.

Cool Nadz! Sounds like a winner to me!

I just got through stropping my Esky on my newly made strop, and I have to say, no idea how I went this long without one! Just used an old belt, couple of the heavy duty paint stirrer sticks from lowes, and some contact cement. After I let it set up for awhile, I slapped some of the polishing compound on it that came with one of my dremels, took the hair dryer to it to melt it in a little, then rubbed it in with my finger. Things works so darn good.

We're taking the tour of the brewery in Milton, DE on Friday around 2. If you swing out that way, hit me up and we'll have some drinks.

Yea, Ark, I save my milestone posts for booze. Wouldn't have it any other way!

Alright, fellas, I'm gonna go pack, get (more) boozed up, and get some sleep for the drive. Try not to miss me too much.

aye, that one, but more likely on monday perhaps on my way home from Blade show.

I'm psyched about finding this Siegle in a box of stuff. I'd really sort of mentally mislaid it.
The sheath has brass eyelets (all Bill had at the time), so today, I used some Brass Black and gave them a nice gunmetal look. Bill's kydex work is incredible. On a par with Dozier's stuff.
Just a great knife. You can see the cool hamon line in this pic.

I meant these pics for Guyons contest, so i'll still post them here.

He wouldn't be still.:)

He looks like a little mall ninja, did you train him????

He is currently training with Paul Blart.:) He didn't want to waste his time training with me.

He is a little badass though. He is one tough little guy, unlike his sister.

man, i want to go back to being a sheeple...all this survival/preparedness stuff is getting expensive. just saw this $10 file in home depot, and all i could think of was, "that would make for an awesome firesteel handle! i gotta have it!" :o

While I was out yesterday I saw this odd looking stump. It looks like it is rolling over.

I thought it might be fatwood, but it doesn't look like the stuff I see you guys with.

View from the barn we're running. Kinda' cool with the round bales and all. Making hay around here right now.

Peaks of Otter in the background. They're not big, tallest is 4400 ft. Getting ready for a hike up that way soon.

Guys, just a quick note...
We've had a thread moved out of Becker at the request of a SuperMod.
For those who followed the whole ESEE debacle, it shouldn't come as a surprise.
I'd just like you to exercise some smarts when you post a thread so it'll stay put.
Apparently, it's not enough to address directly the audience from which you'd like some feedback.
In the hunting thread, Whitetailfanatic did well to ask about hunting along with which Becker knives folks carry.
If you're going to ask about fire making tools, well it sure wouldn't hurt to ask how people have squared up Becker spines to serve as strikers. And so on.
Just a word or two to the wise. We like our little corner of the internet and we prefer it be untrammeled by outsiders.
Bladite, Moose, and I have been working to build a community here, and that's harder to do when threads start leaving.
