Sweet underfolder with launcher sights to boot!!!! Nice:thumbsup:

Thanks!
I've wanted an AK for the longest time.
I passed up many cheap AKs and thought I missed my chance to find an Kalashnikov at a decent price.
Then I found this gem last summer on clearance for the mere price of $399!
They also had converted Saiga 5.54mm for $450.
Sometimes I kick myself for buying the Saiga 74, but since I have quite a bit of 7.62x39 the underfolder was the wiser choice.

giving serious thought to picking up a taurus 111 millenium pro G2 -- several retailers have them on sale for just under $200 currently.

Finally tried my hand at kydex. Only had it since early summer, sketched out a bunch of ideas. Learned a few things along the way, a lot more to learn. Lots of sanding to be done on the edges. All in all I'm happy with the results (for my first go at it). The magazine holder was the minimalist approach. Not sure how I feel about the opening near the business end of the magazine. Time will tell.

Nicely done! Kydex is certainly its own animal. Coming from someone who works with leather for the most part, Kydex presented a bit of a learning curve for me. The cool thing about it though, is that it can be pretty forgiving once you get familiar with its properties and nuances.

All in all though, excellent job on your first go.

Thank you. I really wanted better definition. One of the learnings is have your work area situated near your heat source. Also, know the orientation of the pieces prior to forming. Plus, have the clamps ready too. Next time...
