Beckerheads GAW, Puppy has been named!!! Thanks to ALL.

Thanks for all the participation guys. My wife is going to start looking at the names in the morning.

Id love to see some more Japanese names. Especially 2 syllable Japanese dog names. Or if its more than 2, with a nickname thats only 2 syllables.

But anything still goes :D

Congratulations on the new pet! My wife walked by and saw that it was a Shiba and had a mild meltdown over him.
As for a name... We just adopted a dog a few weeks ago and named him Wash, so the Firefly category is still fresh on my mind.
You should totally name him Mal. Hard headed even fits that character. The wife even agrees on this one.

Also, if you haven't watched the TV show Firefly and you are remotely interested in Sci-Fi, you are just living your life wrong.

Thanks ZZ :) Some really awesome names there bud!!

And I have been reading that forum for the last week or so and learning quite a bit about these dogs.

How about Golem.
That puppy looks like a stuffed animal. In Jewish folklore, a golem is an animated anthropomorphic being, created entirely from inanimate matter.

Kinu Kitsu- The loose translation is Silky Fox.

Beautiful puppy. Shibas often make wonderful vocalizations that almost sound human.

Just came home with the puppy. He is awesome. Really quiet and still while we were in the car for the hour and a half ride..... but as soon as i set him down in the house he was playing all over the place. He likes the kids quite a bit too, right now he is just chilling next to my daughter. But he makes it pretty clear that he doesnt like to be held. He will start to whine and try to maneuver out your hands. He likes some petting, but again when he is done he lets you know it. He is going to be a handful, but it looks like he is going to fit in great.

Congrats, looks like he is a ball of fun.. just make sure you name him something you want to yell across the neighborhood..lol. Years ago I lived with my now wife and her best friend, our roommate had this cat named "outside".. one day Outside got out and was missing, my roommate went running down the street calling for her cat.. "OUTSIDE!!! OUTSIDE!!!"... I am sure some of or neighbors thought that she had broken free..

Hādo mukatta, Japanese for Hard Headed (at least according to Google Translate). You could call him Mookie for short.

"Askim".

That way when people inquire his name, you just say "Askim"... and see how people actually ask the dog, "OK, umm what's your name?"

LMAO, James that would be hilarious!!

But alas, the wife and i have agreed on a name..........

The pup will be name Kiba.

"Kiba the Shiba" has a good ring to it :D

Thanks everyone for participating, There was some really good names and it was a tough choice. There was some she liked that i wouldnt agree with and some i liked that she didnt care for as well, but the one we both agreed on liking, and the one our kids can say is Kiba HAHA

ZZ thanks man, send me your shipping address and let me know what you want and ill get it shipped out next time im at the post office.

Too late - I saw the thread pop up, but kept forgetting to enter.
I love Shibas. Pretty uncommon, but there are a couple in my neighborhood - we'll see them out for walks every couple weeks. My wife and I often think that'll be our next dog.

Kiba's a great name!
Congrats on an awesome pup.
