...
If you’ve been thinking about the Skrama, get it. It came very quickly too!
*@Bladite has good taste in blades. If he endorses something, it’s really worth checking it out.

Seriously, this blade feels good. I dig the hand and a half (been loving me some bastard sword action since back in my old AD&D role playing days). It’s solid, sharp, feels powerful yet dexterous. Of all my knives, this would be the one I take on Knife or Death.
Things that I would note:
From the handle, the blade’s grind has a steeper angle yet changes a few inches up. This gives it more utility for both finer work and chopping.
The circle protruding at the hilt is metal and part of the tang. It is not part of the handle material. It’s very durable.
Speaking of the handle, it has a hard rubber like feel. I really like it and would like to see more blades use something similar.

Awesome!Last year I made this and call it the "Kelley Savage". It works just great and was even tested at one of the Becker gatherings in Tennessee. Yes I know it looks much like a Becker BK4 Machax but I had Mr. Becker's permission before I started on it. Right now there is only one and a good friend of mine has it. I am working on a second one which I plan to keep for me - though I could build some more if there is any interest in them.![]()

I'am almost afraid to answer thatIve been looking at the parangatang and the village parang, which do you prefer? Im leaning towards the village parang.
Those condor parangs are bad*ss for sure. The bushcraft parang is the biggest beast in my arsenal and hits the hardest. I found the villiage parang on sale for almost the same price, but i like the handle shape, curved blade, and overall size of the bushcraft parang. Those Indonesians really hit on something when came up with these parang and bolo blades, and condor & ontario did a great job putting the finishing touches on them too.I'am almost afraid to answer thatdepends on the job. All around swinging and chopping or brush cleaning the Parangatang wins , that sucker takes big bites
sitting at a camp a little chop and splitting the Village Parang wins its packs a punch and doesn't over penetrate
both have handles that you eather like or you hate
