Beckers in the Woods -- A Trip Report (Pic Heavy)

I like Jameson too. It's a smooth whiskey. Word of caution though, never, under any circumstances, eat bacon cabbage stir fry, then down a half bottle of Jameson in about a half hour, then top it off with Jack Daniels, lol. Man, never forget that night. I fell asleep on the front porch of the cabin, and somehow made it back up in the loft around 4am. Woke up, and thought, wow, this isn't too bad. Then I sat up, wrong thing to do. I ran outside in my underwear and boots, heaving my effing guts out, haha. The bacon cabbage stir fry, incidentally, didn't look any different than before I ate it. :D

I don't think I've ever had bacon cabbage before. Sounds like that was one rough night at the cabin! Jack Daniels and Jim Beam are ok at best compared to Makers Mark IMO. And I used to be a big Jack Daniels fan! Never tried Jameson though...

You were right. Great story...I laughed pretty hard! :D
Glad I could be there for ya like that. ;)

I went for a solo overnighter there once, and got a bottle of Jack, only because it was $10 cheaper than Maker's Mark. I drank a bit that night, and did okay, but woke up with a headache. The night I drank the Jameson, I felt great, but the neighbors came up, and for whatever reason, I asked the wife to break out the Jack. Like I really needed it.

I still like Jameson a lot. Very smooth, with a good, mild taste. Here lately, Ive been getting into drinking Scotch, as that's what my father in law likes to drink. We smoke a gar, and drink Scotch.

I’m sure we all have our stories. My last one involved not eating all day, driving 5 hours to the beach, then celebrating our arrival with a few too many shots of moonshine. We had a lot of fun...right up to the point of me puking my guts up. I would say “poor Jonny” for having to take care of me, but he was taking photos in between holding my hair back. Lol! He did run me a cool bath, in which I tried to pass out. He moved me to the bed to save me from drowning, where I swiftly passed out, then woke up 3 hours later starving to death. We ordered a pizza, and I felt better than ever. :D

thanks for bringing us along MTM!
Happy Birthday Jonny!
Nice looking knife, too.

personally, I prefer Tullamore Dew over Jameson.

You’re welcome! Thanks for looking and commenting!

Oh, and bacon cabbage stir fry is the bomb. Easy to make too. Cut up a head of cabbage. Fry 6 or 7 strips of bacon, crispy. Take out, and let the bacon dry up, and cool down. Throw the cabbage in the bacon grease, and let it cook down. You may have to add a bit of water later for some additional steam. When the cabbage is nearly cooked, throw in some garlic powder. Crush up the bacon into bits, and throw it back in the cabbage. Mix it back up, and serve. Salt and pepper to taste. great stuff. Found some photos, haha. Imagine that:
