Beckers- the best knives on the planet.

Don't go knocking Busses. I'll have to sic the HOGs in there, and they haven't had a good cross-forum battle since the '06 Rat-HOG border war.

Seriously, I sometimes hear my EsKabar crying in its sheath because it's not 100% Becker. :D

All I gotta say is that the guys at busse gave me a really sh!tty additude when I contacted them for knife info where on the other hand Ethan Becker has been nothing but a gentleman to me and answered any questions I had with politeness and dignity

I won't knock there quality but as people I say no thanks

Esee and Becker two sides of the same bad ass coin IMO

Totally agree, but for some reason I always pick up the becker first.

The reason the handles are a little bigger are because men have bigger hands then feseemales......

In today's market with internet technology I will have to agree, its all about customer service.. without that your knives suck, just look at Lindsay.. sad I had to name call, but it is what it is.. ymmv

All I know it that I will never own one of there knives even if I get it as a gift I will return it and buy a Becker or a blind horse if I want semi custom

But had busse not gotten all nasty and snobby with me I would gladly buy one because some of there designs are really nice

By ANDY PARAS - The (Charleston) Post and Courier

Officer William Janicki could only stand and watch Sunday as the 27-year-old man climbed higher into the tree with a rope gripped tightly in his left hand.

Janicki watched the man wrap one end of the mooring rope around a limb and then wrap the other end around his neck.

"He looked me dead in the eyes and said, 'I don't want to do this any more,'" Janicki said Tuesday.

The man then scooted off the branch and dropped.

"He fell about a foot, a foot and a half and the rope tightened."

The man dropped and dangled in the air. It was a horrible sight, but Janicki had seen worse in his four years in the military.

The 6-foot-5 officer just relied on his instincts and training, scaling the fence and then the limbs until he was within reach of the rope. It took about 30 seconds, he said.

Janicki grabbed his Becker BK11 knife that he always keeps sharp and sliced the taut rope.

"Once he hit the ground he gasped for air, so I knew he was still alive," Janicki said.

Had Janicki not had his knife on him, the situation probably would have turned out much differently, he said.

"I think it stems back from my days in the military when they taught you to be prepared for anything," that's why I left my ESEE at home, he said.

The man was disoriented but conscious, and he is expected to survive. Janicki straddled the two fences and extended his hand to the man.

"Everything will be OK," he told him.

I don't know the details, but I will say that Busse customer service is as good as it comes. I also don't know which "guys" you mean, but if you call Busse Combat and ask to talk to Amy, she will go above and beyond in terms of helping you. She has been sick with the flu lately. I don't know if her illness has any bearing on your dissatisfaction, but it might.

Also, though I don't represent Busse officially, I know the company and the line, and I am perfectly happy to help you out with any Busse info you need. Just shoot me an email.
