Do it man. No becker knife needed, use what you bring, besides there will be probably 50 users there for you to try out. I'm bringing a bunch of non beckers.
 
The first thread has been updated for the contests. so the question is,
What contest/ contests might you be interested in?
I ask because I don't wanna put a bunch of mental wattage into grading them if folks aren't interested.

working on directions now.

Ryne and I might be able to make it out Friday evening maybe for the night and head out Saturday morning for the Duck game.
 
Put me down as a maybe. Just got home from a long trip and need to finish a few projects but may just show up :)

Was hoping to get some feedback from the folks attending about the contests. Which ones you'd likely participate in?

I also was thinking it could be a good time to work on the Sept. Becker challenge. Your thoughts?
 
I'm good for chopping, tomahawk throwing and fire making. Will also try traps but have yet to give that any real attention. Would be a great learning experience.

Always ready to hear a great scary story but lack in the scary story telling department!

Looking forward to this get-together!
 
1) Chopping - In and using my BK2!!! Don't own any choppers but it does out chop my BK7, at least for me.
2) TomaHawk Throwing - Oh hell yah!!!
3) Traps & Snares - Is this judged on how much we actually catch?
4) Fire - You need to be clear here. My Dad might be coming and he likes to cheat and use gas and oil and stuff...not my bag, don't need it but he likes to cheat...a napom concoction is right up his alley...shotgun shells...you probably should exclude almost everything in his case, you just never know...
 
Would be interested in bow drill or other primitive fire making, and traps. Not going to throw my GB small forest axe and don't own a tomahawk. Up for anything really.
 
I'm scared for the scary story contest already! Don't let me down guys!

I'm in for doing any of the contests really, I am not too good at stuff, but it'll give everyone else a chance to win :P
 
I think trap and snare should be judged on uniqueness of design as well as quality of contruction. I'm merely a rookie at trapping and snaring so I'm not entirely sure how that one is gonna go down yet.

So for fire, Ignite a fire using brought materials like flint & steel, ferro rod matches fresnel lens,like that and I'm not picky. My thinking on this is stuff you'd carry in your pack or survival kit. Bring an 8oz cup of water to a boil. I'm not looking to see someone holding a road flare up to a cup of water till it boils but an actual fire using wood, leaves or other natural material. First one to do that wins, however there will be a big twist added in at the last minute. Let's not burn down the forest.

I happen to own a throwing hawk, never have throw it, I'll bring it along.

I don't know what contests I would do. None most likely. I want everyone else to win something cool, but if we get some really cool prize, then you all know I'll probably enter that contest and win it :D
 
It's looking looking like +4 or +5 now! More knives...more guns...can't wait! Final number soon to come...I have lots of minions...

Most of this I am a novice at but am willing to learn and have a good time.
I am going to bring my #5 of course but will bring one of my hawks and my personal bowie to cut with.

That would be awesome if you could make it out to our little gathering Mr. Fisk. Did you notice though that this gathering is going to be in Oregon though? I'm asking because I know Moose invited you the the gathering at Ethan's place, and just wanted to make sure that you are on the right thread.





On another note guys, due to unforeseen circumstances I don't think I have the funds to spend on gas for the trip down and back. So if anyone heading down from WA or Canada would be kind enough to let me hitch a ride, I would be able to repay them with a sheath. If this is something someone would want to do please PM or email me. I'm still trying to talk one of my buddies into heading down with me, but we'll see what happens there.
