My thinking on the chopping contest is yes, use what you want. I've got a loaner Bark River Clax I may use. Though I'm not gonna compete in the contest.

As for the showing up time why not just leave the gate open in the daytime?
Sure you can. Dangerous as hell though. Maybe we can fake lock it, but I didnt think anyone was even gonna get there till dark though.

I've been thinking about this today, I was thinking there should either be a size limit like 9" or 10" , or just have a whole seperate class for everything above 10". The problem is I don't have enough prizes to give away for two chopping contests.
I'm learning as I go, as I learned from lonesome dove "You can't expect top quality your first time out".
I should have finalized these contests awhile ago.
So' 10" limit on chopping blades? What say you?
