I sleep with my Emerson......LOL just wondering if anybody else does :D I keep other knives and "weapons" close by while im sleeping too, so im just wondering what everyone keeps close to them at night and why they have chosen it.......:)

I have a CS Shambok (sp?) under my bed to beat the crap out of an intruder. If that doesn't work, I always have a CS Large Voyager clip point on the dresser. If Mr. Nasty still wishes to dance, there is a .357 Titanium/Scandium Smith and Wesson in the drawer. I feel pretty safe at night for the most part.

Funny you should mention this. I recently started sleeping with my CQC8 on the bedside table and my Burger sword cane leaning up against the bed. I also have some firepower close by but out of reach of the kid :D

You have great taste ;) can't go wrong with an Emerson.

Its great to have a Sheila!! around to keep the Bruces on their toes and respectable :D

At the present moment I have next to my bed : CQC6, Strider AR, Strider MT, Spydie Military pe, Spydie se , Spydie Native, Spydie mouse, Spydie card ,Spydie Endura, Delica, Sure Fire 6Z, E1 and Maglight 2 D cell.......and my teddy bear blanket and pillow

Me !!! insecure ....uhm...No just overly cautious....... have been doing some maintenance cleaning of some folders :D ;)

Usually I just have a Strider AR in the bedside draw, CQC6 on dresser and Spydie Endura under pillow and Mick Strider custom 7.5" under the bed......and ferocious girlfriend next to me for the burglars

I sleep with my emerson too, its in a sheath i attached to the side of my bed. Its pretty well hidden and comes in handy, when ever i need my emerson, i know its either iwb or behind my bed. Same goes for my gerber combat folder.(except i dont carry it nearly as much as my emerson) I also have my glass knife display case about 10 feet from my bed which has about 20 knives in it. And depending i what i may be doing before i go to bed, my nightstand will probably have about 2 or 3 more folders on it.
I also keep my AK47 knife in a close arms reach in relation to my bed.

I'll see your CS Lg clip Voyager (fully serrated?:) ) and raise you a CS BadAxe. Oh yeah, Commander on the dresser.

Im fairly sure i come across these forums by doing a search on yahoo of Emerson+Knives.......not really sure though......was probably 4-5 months ago now. I have just been watching, but tired of that :)
I try not to have many knives around the house cause if some1 breaks in they could be used against me ( this is quite hard as i make knives....LOL) dont you guys feel this way too? Im only asking because u sleep with so many close by......

You're into Emerson's and make knives as well, hey, you're perfect. Are you married ? :D

Seriously though, I have a CQC6, Strider GB, 21" ASP, CS Spray, Leatherman Wave, La Griffe and a Surefire Centurion (to see where to use all my toys !) :D

Bedside Manners hmmmm . . .

Well, I sleep with a Surefire 9Z with a P91 bulb on the bed stand (never know when you'll need to head for the bathroom in the middle of the night;))

Propped against the nightstand is a Bushmaster Preban AR with Hornady TAP 55gr rounds in it. The carbine has it's own independent light system with a Surefire 6v light with a P61 bulb.

I keep a pair of pants "loaded" in the chair by the bed. Two Commanders, one Glock G19C, keys and ID in the pockets, ready to toss on and go.

When I travel it's pretty much the same set up. Oliver and I roomed together for the Blade Show last year. You should have seen his eyes when I opened my "Golf Bag" and pulled out my ".223 Iron and my 12 Wood". :D

Hey! You're from Sydney - home of my favorite building in the world. Cool! :D Welcome to the home of the deviants. :D

I have lots of stuff by the bed, Emerson SOCFKs, Commanders, Tantos, some other misc. folders, and my Beretta 92 under the pillow... when the GF isn't sleeping over, that is.

What do you have to go thru to get a pistol permit where you live? What type of knives do you make?
Funny emerson bed story
I was sleeping at a hotel in Conn. over the thankgiving holiday, i guess the wakeup call i ordered didnt work and as a result, i slept late. All i remember is a door opening with no knock or anything and in an instant i had my hands on my CQC7. Even with being just woken up and still tired and diorented, i was able to open the CQC7 with no problems. I jumped up in bed, and ready to pounce on the intruder. Only it wasnt an intruder, it was a maid who wanted to clean my room. Good thing it wasnt a bad guy. I offered the maid a word or advice, KNOCK BEFORE ENTERING
Oh yeah i did a little knife shoping when i was in conn., i went to a knife shop where a mach 1 was being sold for $224. I talked to the owner for a little bit and he complained to me how long it took him to sell his the emerson lagriffe's I WONDER WHY :), he probably was selling them for $100.

okay....in the state of New South Wales...to buy or shoot any type of pistol i need to become a member of the SSAA which is $60/yr and then a pistol club member which is $110/yr....you have to fill out a whole heap of forms that get faxed to the police headquaters, while that is being processed u become a temp. member and do 7 weeks of training in a club, each training day costs $22. once ur license is approved in 3-4 weeks u can then purchase a pistol. you also have to show u have good reason to need a pistol license so u must attend 12 approved "shots" at a club or gun show.

Okay, okay, here's my bedside arsenal;

Benelli Super 90 Tactical with tritium ghost ring site, stoked with #4 Buck up the pipe, followed by 00 Buck in the tube, equipped with SureFire forearm, leaning against bedpost.

HK USP .45 equipped with UTL and loaded with 230 grain Hydra-Shocks, on nightstand.

Glock 23 w/Trijicons, loaded with 135 grain jhp Cor-bons (pre-ban hi-cap mag), in nightstand drawer.

Steyr AUG (black) Flat-top with ACOG, SureFire equipped, leaning against nightstand.

Jerry Hossom Millenium Machete in leather sheath hanging from bedpost.

Strider Zombie Killer on nightstand.

Ryan Biohazard M1 on nightstand.

98 Commander on nightstand.

MT UT6 on nightstand.

Surefire M2 Centurion on nightstand.

ASP 21" airweight baton on nightstand.

Motorola Star-tac charging on the nightstand.

And that's it for my side of the bed.

My wife has her Glock 27 stoked with 135 grain jhp Cor-bons.

And her green Steyr AUG with factory sights, SureFire equipped.

And her Protech Jazz Runt on her nightstand.

And her Motorola Star-tac charging on her nightstand.

We also have a 65 lb. female pitbull named Jazzabelle sleeping on my feet, and a 55 lb. male border collie named Scout sleeping on her feet.

And a video monitor mounted on the wall near our bedroom television, which alternates views between 6 different low-light video cameras which are strategically located around the perimeter of our ranch.

Our bedroom door is solid, with two excellent deadbolts which we throw prior to climbing into bed.

And we sleep like friggin' babies. :D

Welcome to the Emerson Forum, Emerson_Girl! :)

...and before anyone mentions overkill, please realize that the Barrett .50 went back into the safe months ago, okay!?!? :D
