Please don't drink beer if you're under 21.

That said, I know a lot of my pals here are beer drinkers. So, I thought it would be fun to throw some names around together and pick one to try as a group. We can suggest a few, then decide together if it deserves the honor of Beer of the Month. If you guys are into it, I'll make the thread a stickey and we can commence the suggesting.

Tonight I'm having a Dinkel Acker. They're $10.50 a 12 pack at my liquor store, and its a staple of mine due to the price. Its a hoppy pilsner from Germany. I usually buy a heavier beer in 6 pack with my 12 pack, but I didn't do that tonight. Whats in your glass this evening?

Great idea Andy

I am on my 2nd Dogfish Head "Palo Santo Marron"

It is a rich brown ale, aged in a large wooden vessel of Paraguayan Palo Santo wood which gives it a slight caramel and vanilla flavor. It is a strong and deep. 12% alcohol by volume and pricey at $14 buck a 4 pack.

If you like a more Hoppy flavor, I higly reccomend DogFish Head imperial 90 minute.

Not as strong, only 9% alcohol but a great flavor and about 10-12 bucks a 4 pack.

I've heard a lot of good things about Dogfish. I've only had one, no reason really. This thread is about just that!

I think a Dogfish 4 pack is on the ajenda.

I'm in. I picked up some Wolavers tonight and am drinking the India Pale Ale.

Dogfish will be putting their Chickory Stout out in a couple weeks so that'll be a really good one to try again. I also picked up some Dogfish Pangaea today. Yum!

The Dogfish brewery is really close to me so I tend to support the local guys most often.

Alright - all this talk about beer so I had to go crack another. Here two that I picked up today. IPA in my ready to serve frosty mug and a shot of my favorite bottle opener.

We have a joint near me called Old Chicago. They do a world beer tour where you drink 110 different beers. Good stuff. My favorite was a Rogue beer called Morimoto Soba.

I'll play along as I can. I don't drink a lot athome, but as a good German I'm always up for a new beer

I too like a variety of beers. My standard though is Sam Adams Boston Lager. That's what I'm drinking tonight.

I'm from Delaware and also like Dogfish Head beer. In particular, the usual one of theirs that I like is the Raison D'Etre as it has a great body and full of flavor and is at 8% ABV.

I never was a fan of the Raison. There is a Seafood place we go to in Dover that serves the heck out of some Raison, so that's really the only time a drink it. I'm not really sure what I don't like about it though, just not my favorite.

Blue Moon. Great wheat beer complimented by an orange slice.

Anything from Leinenkugals...

I haven't had a beer all year.. I gave it up for Whiskeys. you guys are making me want a Summer Ale, and I can't get it until April!

Alaskan Sumer Ale is my favorite... dark rich and sweet come to mind.. Haven't had any for 2 years; they only sell it in the summer, and everybody stocks up on it while its for sale....I haven't seen any to get!

My standard was Corona. Only light color beer i can stand.. otherwise I like the darker stuff. Alaskan Amber is OK, and a standard in these parts, but unless it is almost frozen its too bitter for me. Had a Sam Adams once... deeeep dark black in color and was kinda chocolaty.. Great! but I can't remember the exact name.

G.

Sorry I took so long. Last night, I went through the Dundee sample box. The Wheat one was really good. The rest I think I could have done without. Some were way too sweet and bitter at the same time. Thats usually a no go for me.

My personal favorite is Samuel Smiths India Ale. Medium body with a crisp hoppiness that is not over the top. About $10 a four pack, so I don't drink them much, but a great, great beer, along with most of their line. If you really like a dark beer, try the SS Oatmeal Stout. My everyday is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

I like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. And I like that Sammy Smith Oatmeal too.

I might play along with this one. My current favorite is the Breckenridge Vanilla Porter. The local brewery here in Lincoln (Empyrean) also makes a pretty good vanilla porter. I may have to track down some of that Dogfish IPA, I always like a good IPA. Also, Breckenridge makes an Oatmeal Stout that I'm enjoying right now. Very thick stuff.

Myright, I use a bottle opener just like yours :D

Oh! And how could I forget... Left Hand Milk Stout is an excellent brew. Lots of flavor.

If y'all really want to get fancy pick up a Westmalle Trippel. It's a traditional Belgian brew... a wheat beer with a whole lot of flavor and a good kick to go with it.

I too have had a Westmalle Tripple a couple of times and really enjoyed drinking it. I didn't enjoy how pricey it was though. But I would recommend giving it a try!

I also enjoy the Rochefort 10. Unfortunately it's a little sweet in bottles, but that's all I can get around here. But seriously, try some Trappist ales if you haven't yet. I didn't even like beer until I tried the Trappist offerings.

One of my local bars has the DogFish Head 90 Minute on draft. I don't usually enjoy hoppy beers but I will drink this stuff down like water. It's amazing.

I don't have any right now, but I thoroughly recommend the Stone "Russian Imperial Stout" and North Coast "Old Rasputin" Russian Imperial Stout. Both are smooth, incredibly complex, and totally delicious. These are possibly my favorite beers of all time, although DogFish Head keeps putting out solid offerings that threaten to unseat them.

A local favorite here in Vermont is the Rock Art "Vermonster." $5 for a 22oz bottle, and it's 10% by volume. It's a well balanced Barleywine, with tasty fruit and sugar flavors...plus quite a kick if you drink the whole thing in one go.
