Beer of the Month Club

Great thread Andy (great sub-forum and website too -I'm just checking it out now).

Sam Smiths Winter Welcome is my vote... followed by any other Sam Smiths.

Can't go wrong with Sammy Smiths Patrick!!!

I just went to Chico California to visit my brother, and I tried a beer by sierra Nevada brewing company company called "old Chico", its a beautiful drinkable beer. My new personal favorite from sierra Nevada now. (Looking over old threads LOL)

Stone for me. Arrogant Bastard is the entry level, but Old Guardian, Ruination and Sublimely Self-Rightous will get you
hooked. The limited releases like Double Bastard and Ruin-Ten are my favorites.

Talk about a thread bump. I don't do beer that often so I indulge in liquor. Lately I've been expanding my bar by adding burbouns I'm drinking some nice Buffalo Trace right now

Alchemist's Heady Topper is a local beer that i consider one of the best i've had....

I am a rum drinker. Mt. Gay is my EDC, so to speak. But i do like a good bourbon too.

Hey TPVT, I'd like to try that one! I am a beer geek, but when I drink whiskey, I prefer Templeton's rye

I normally prefer Belgium Trips and Quads, especially St. Bernardus Abt 12 or a local from Avery Brewing called the Reverend. If you like Stouts and you can find it, Avery Mephistopheles’ Stout is really good and at 17% ABV I'm not sure it really qualifies as a beer anymore ;)

it's a good one. i expect that it would be hard to find out there. heck, it's hard to find here. they distribute on Wednesday's and it is usually gone from the stores in a day or two.

not sure if i've had templeton's. but speaking of rye, you'd probably also like this!

...another local offering.

I try to steer clear of the whiskey, but when I do drink it I like makers mark. Mostly beers for me. Interesting I haven't heard of some of the names. I'm a fan of founders centennial ipa, and most of the dogfish offerings

You sound like a fellow I could get along with, no doubt. I've not tried the Mephistopheles', but it's on my "to try" list. One I lucked into, at a local mom-n-pop was some '94 Samichlaus. I bought the lone bottle they had, and enjoyed it on the deck with no clue how rare it was or how high in alcohol, along with some Trappist Westvleteren 12 .

Didn't hit me until I went to stand up.

Good times.

Very cool. Gotta love those sleepers.

If you ever make it out to CO I'll treat you to some local Belgiums. There's a lot of good ones here. And if I'm ever in KY I expect some bourbon :)

Sounds like a deal! We have a local distillery about two miles from my house ;)

I used to live closer to your neck of the woods, between Aztec and Farmington NM about 35 years ago. I'd imagine things have changed a bit since then :D
