Behold, the 2023 BladeForums Traditional Forum Knife

guess one would still need a bucket of some sort and a knife to gut them and a scaler....and bait to I spose.
Quite correct my friend. They were a gimmick, same as the " Steak Knives " or the " Knives That Never Need Sharpening ". You could spit into the wind further than you could cast them, and the line was always tangling. If they worked everyone would be using them, i haven't seen one for years. Notice i did put some knife content in. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

GEC has forwarded this based on my input as this year's Traditional Forum Knife

I strongly prefer natural materials, so Jigged Bone is perfect in my view. We are looking at 600ish pieces this year, pricing to come. Before anyone asks, yes this will come with a button too.

2023 marks the 25th year of BladeForums, so this will be a special offering. We still have time to get the front and back labels together for this so I'm open to suggestions or submissions.

Like last year, you will need to be an active member of the Traditional forum to purchase these (25+ posts in this forum, member since before Jan 1, 2023) or have a Gold or higher membership.

EDIT: A sharp eyed member pointed out that there appears to be a rendering error in the middle picture; they are correct, this is a two blade design, not a 3 blade
This will be an interesting knife!! Reminds me of a Surveyor, but in reverse!!
Bernie Levine sometimes referred to the Surveyor pattern as a Swell-center Canoe!!
Queen, under the Schatt trademark, made a four blade but they called it the "Railsplitter", again, a reverse of our proposed BF knife!!
Queen's version: Railsplitter A.jpg Railsplitter 1.jpg Railsplitter 2.jpg
One of the nice features of this Railsplitter/Surveyor is the semi-sunk joints, helping to make a substantial knife pocketable!!!
I wonder if GEC will make a Surveyor version???

I like it. I recently added a canoe and love it. I would love to see this design

Charlie, I wondered the same thing about the rail splitter when I saw the frame! I’d love a remake of the 3 blade version!

A "Cattle" knife blade configuration would be great! I had an old 3-blade remington - don't know where it is; still looking . . . . . . . . . . Ahem!!
Someone, I forget who, posted this Surveyor type Harness Jack!! A two blader!!
Interesting knife!!!RemSurv 6.JPG

Well Done Sir.....but sounds like you had some proper tackle too..😁
Not at first. He had never been fishing in his life, had no lures or bait, just that Pocket Fisherman. We were on a pier in Florida snd I spotted some clams in the shallows. Snagged one, brought it up, opened it with my pocket knife and baited the hook. Showed him how to cast (if you can call it that) and watched as he caught his first fish on his second cast. About the third catch, something a lot bigger bit the one on his lne nearly in half.

By the next morning, he had some proper tackle as well. We ended up having a fish fry for the entire crew on the way through the Panama Canal.

Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll find renewed joy for the rest of his days.

The folks over at BucketForums are most likely appalled at our lack of preparedness, but it's probably a safe bet that everyone here has a knife at least -- even if many of them have more experience with the inside of a tube than the inside of a fish. 🤣
Actually, I found some experts on buckets, and I’m not sure they’ve ever been appalled at anything, except maybe when asked to de-bucket?

So my question is:
Whats fish language for " ha ha it's him swim away, nothing to see here..sucker."...Because thats what they say whenever I throw a line in.
