Benchmade 710 - No new axis spring for me.

If Benchmade is so against folks opening their knives, why do they sell
a kit that has all of the torx bits necessary to take apart their knives?

It seems kind of ridiculous to sell you the necessary tools on one hand.
Then on the other tell you if you do, you void their warranty.

The kit is to remove pocket clips and adjust pivot tension etc. It's not intended for knife disassembly.

Someone on another forum asked what folder they should take to Afganistan. My reply was they should take a Sebenza and specifically not a Benchmade with an Axis lock. The reasoning was if the Axis lock breaks, how is he going to send back to the US for repair and if he could, have to wait weeks to turn it around. Now if he had a couple of spare Omega springs, then I would have no hesitation recommending a Axis lock knife.

I guess broken axis springs are so rare that when one breaks people talk about it for the next five years, huh?
