Benchmade 710 vs Spyderco Paramiltary 2

para 2. never had a bad experience with spyderco: always sharp, stays sharp, superior ergos.

benchmade: tiny bevel, doesnt quite feel right in the hand.

also, the para just looks badass, am i right?

I have been carrying a Para 2 for edc for about 6 months now and it is an awesome knife. It fits my hand perfect, is light and strong as hell. Plus, Spyderco knives kick a@$!

Easy - Para2 - get a black one :D:D

It is OK, but in many ways the 710 is a bit of a silly knife.

Paras and Para2s are just really good.

Got me a Para 2, black-on-black. It's the first knife I've owned that has curbed the knife buying bug. It is awesome!

the para 2 is a nice knife but the 710 gives much more blade to handle. it's a great mix of big blade, compact carry and then it's an axis. i appreciate the comp lock but it's just not as natural and as fast for me as the axis is. the 710 is the one i keep coming back to and wondering why i buy other knives

You would be correct. I think a more accurate comparison would be the Military and the 710 though.

Is it just me or does the CTS-20CP Para2 have a slightly more brilliant satin finish than the standard S30V version?

That's a tough decision. I have both, use both, and love both. Get a sprint if you are going to get one, the better steel is worth it. But I think the biggest factor is how you are planning to use it. You said some hard use, so I would not get the Para2, it is an amazing slicer but has a really thin tip that can easily break. The 710 has a MASSIVE blade and a strong tip and is better for hard use. The M390 version is available for only $150!!!

Not to deal spot but (( not a paid BFC Dealer )) has a great deal on them right now ;)

paramilitary 2!!! it opens wicked fast super smooth awesome lock up awesome steel (CPM S30V) great ergos, and u just forget its in your pocket so..cant go wrong and the blade shape is so sexy.. pretty easy to sharpen!! (and its a bit cheaper)

i personally think spyderco's customer service is alot better than bench made and the para military looks alot better as well

I have both para in 20cp and 710 in m390 (really like both steels) and I was a little disappointed in the weight(heavy) of the 710 it feels a little thick/narrow in the pocket but I think I will get accustomed to it ! anyhow I still prefer the para2

Between the 710 and Para? 710, because I just have never taken to the Para. I have many other Spydies, some of which I favor over the 710, but not the Para.

Axis lock vs comp lock? Tough, they are my two favorites. Axis is more convenient, and ambi. Compression lock seems more secure, somewhat any way.

Blade? 710 all the way. Stout blade with a slight recurve.
