Benchmade 806 AFCK m4 is out...but no luck

I often buy 2 or 3 of a limited release, to keep awhile and perhaps down the road trade for something else I don't have. I don't worry about having keeping them if that doesn't work out, but I'd never get them just to flip for a few dollars profit.

IMHO That depends upon how many will become users vs safe queens. More users will mean higher NIB price some time from now.

As is so often the case in the knife world a great design with super materials will be tucked away into safes around the country, never to be used. I'm sure some will claim to be buying them as users but the reality is they will soon be worth $400 and up NIB and <$200 if used.

Yep, and as prices rise, the likelihood that they will be used becomes even more remote.

I have to admit, that it bothers me a bit to use my AFCK M4 as an EDC, even though I love this knife (after reprofiling it). I had purchased a 710 M4 when they came out, but I didn't like it and sold it for a tiny -- and fully disclosed -- profit. The AFCK just works for me. But it would be nice if it were widely available so I could use it without thinking about the value I'm destroying.

The 710 is a nice knife. The handle is quite comfortable (some people say it's too smooth); but the handle of the 806 is even better still. As Twindog said, it just feels right.

Well, I received my overpriced ebay AFCK today. Struggling with whether to EDC it and beat it up, but I can't really think of a reason not to as I'll never be selling it. Its a little bigger than I anticipated, and opens smooth as silk just like the 710.

Its all in the 806's handle - one of the best handles I've run into for a folder.
