You are talking about a different knife you can not buy the one I am referring to for $250, unless you find a dealer that is as insane as Benchmade.I always wonder who buys the $800 versions of a knife you can buy anywhere for $250. Collectors and hipsters, I suppose.
GNP is great. You can get away from people. Good hikes for sure!I have always wanted to visit Glacier National Park. It’s on my bucket list. You must be having a blast!

What I am saying has nothing to do with the $250 Adira, but it is still over priced. I am commenting that Benchmade rarely makes a knife worth $800 and it is certainly not this LE Adira. You can buy the regular Adira for around $250. I was saying that it doesn't make sense to me to buy the $800 gold class version that doesn't seem functionally superior.
I have paid A LOT more for worse. I like mine a lot. I did NOT pay retail. I would have been happy to pay for one thoughThe blade profile is similar to Griptilian, which is OK to me. The handle looks very cheap. Definitely not worth $250 in my eyes.
I’m pretty sure you can name the place as long as you don’t post any links. Are we allowed to say the name of sporting goods retailers here? Anyway, this one store, abbreviated, starts with an R--- has a love affair with benchmade... and that's where I got mine at 250. For sar it has seen the ocean on a boat and other misc wetwork, I just checked it tonight for curiosity's sake, no rust, it's good to go for seafaring ways.
I use Salt series knives in H1 and MC in salt water when we go to Florida and have never had any part rust. Even leaving the knife in a salt water soaked swimsuit overnight.Spyderco goes through the extra effort and cost to find and use internal parts with extra corrosion resistance. I haven't seen any reports of rust, and the Salt version has been out quite a long time now. (Maybe someone else has(?), but it would've got around by now so I'd bet not.)
I believe ‘a’ mitigation for this is to put a little graphite (#2 pencil or powdered graphite in a tube) at the contact point between the blade and stop pin. It may be worth a try but I’m sure others will have better suggestions. After 2 weeks of 90+ and high humidity here in St. Louis, my Adira has developed some serious lock stick. It might be a simple fix by just working the lock a bunch, but it is pretty bad.
