Benchmade Griptilian - Different Scales

Would the scales from the large Bone Collector fit the large Griptillian 551 without modification?
 
South, I don't think they're interchangeable. The Bone Collector and Presidio series are interchangeable. If you can live with the hole, the Bone Collector is teh closest you're going to get without going the custom scales route. Oh, and teh bone Collector is a stout, well made slicer. I have the large and love it. It also has the full, milled liners whereas the Grips have those partial liners.

Thanks, crom. I'm planning to take off the factory plastic scales on my 551 and filling the recesses on the inside with epoxy, just to see if it will sound a little less "hollow".

I just ordered a set from Cuscadi today...black g10 with red spacer...gonna be sweet!
 
I think it's on the upper-right of their web page contact us...kontakt (?) something like that and that brings you to a page that's pretty self-explanatory....I knew the scales I wanted, a couple emails, a pdf bill with paypal info and bang! Order in! Just sent a thank you note 2 minutes ago. Don't know when they are coming, but that's fine...never did notice the tab in paypal for what currency to send..but it was all easy schmeezy... :thumbup:

Thanks. The black ones with the red space are what I want, too. The site lists them as Micarta. They have a G10 version?
 
Ah no, you are right, the red spacer is g10...if my read of German is on! hah!

rpn - Ordered a set, myself. Thanks for the info!

I'm still going to try filling the chambers in the internals of the factory scales to see the results. I'll probably use epoxy.
 
By the way, rpn - I ordered mine without a clip and no holes drilled for a clip. Did you order yours' with a clip?
 
Yeah, with clip. I was tempted not too...figure the clip will detract from the look...but I'll be carrying it a bunch.

I went back and had them add the clip to my order. Really look forward to getting them.
