Benchmade MPR?

MPR is 2.9" long blade and weighs 5 oz. Stout little knife. I own one and carry it plus I have a 755 on order from BM.

Word is there may be a 4" version coming too.

Regarding the steel - google it. There are pages discussing its usage. Primarily in the injection plastic moulding tooling market place.

here is the comps on the steel, pretty good but not any greater than many others out there. user report is only valid consensus of alloy.

It is an awesome knife , that feels incredible in the hand. I can't wait for them to start shipping. They definitely executed Shane's design very well.

Although it has a sub 3" knife , it doesn't feel like a small knife.

While I wish it had a tip-up option , I liked the feel of it so well that I will get one anyway.

Thats a nice looking knife.

I think I know why I like it.... It reminds me of a XM-18. Is it just me or does anyone else think it resembles that knife?

On paper there are some structural similarities, but I don't see much of a visual resemblance. This thing is built like a Mack truck, whereas the XM-18 is relatively elegant IMO.

Just saw one at First Response in Decatur, IN but it was promised to someone else. The next one is mine.

Got the 755 today....very nice...nice solid lock up (tit frame lock)...what a thick blade....very boxy, wide handle...feels good in hand....jimping is not the best...but overall a good purchase on the grip. very nice g10 and horizontal traction on the handle....I wish the thumb studs had a bit of ribbing on them...alittle smooth and, for me, a bit hard to actuate blade 1 handed...others may have better luck....looks alot heavier then it is (hello titanium)! lol Jury is still out on the pocket clip...just unboxed it so havent had time to edc the blade in pocket...1st production 86/1000 (thats always cool)...lanyard hole is very small (if your into lanyards) would be difficult to shove 550 through that mother...the entire frame is made of G10 with the exception of the frame lock side which is tit...I paid $200 for the knife on Ebay...nice package...Purchase well worth it...now onto my Glock 26 purchase.
Later dudes

Got mine last night, it is a flawlessly built knife. It must be the shortest folder I've got, but it doesn't feel 'little' in any way.
It's indeed tip-down carry which I hate, but there's a titanium liner underneath the G-10 so I will have holes tapped into the bottom end of the frame, to attach the clip.
BM claim they make certain knives tip-down only because there's not enough retention. That may be true for (for example) the Deja Voo (no experience with it) but this knife won't come out by itself, not worried about carrying it that way.

It's a REALLY goodlooking knife. Ergo's are pretty good too, despite its chunkyness. The titanium is really very well 'polished' for lack of a better word.
Great addition to my addiction. :D
