Just got my Griptillian and noticed a few things. The blade centering way off and the pocket clip not making full contact. Now I know the blade centering should be center, but am wondering if the pocket clip issue is a quality control thing or if it is because of the shape of the handle?

I'd try adjusting the pivot, or take the whole thing apart and reassemble, or try flipping the washers over, or send it back to Benchmade and they"ll get it fixed for you.Shouldn't be a hard fix just needs a little tweeking. Bend the clip yourself to get fitting flush on the scales if it bothers you too or just ask Benchmade and they will send you a new one. I bend lots of my clips to make them fit tighter on pockets, sure you can bend it to make it flush/even on scales or as said get another. I think people expect to much out of their knives sometimes. Everything can't come from the factory perfect. Try some things. You"ll be able to fix it. Probably just loose pivot for the off centered blade. Bend clip.

I would not say it is expecting to much for a knife in this price range to come with a flush clip and good blade centering. I have many $30 Kershaws that blow the Griptillian out of the water in fit and finish and the Griptillian is 4x the price. I'm not going to take it apart as it would void my warranty. I bend clips to fit tighter all the time, but this would be bending it to make it canted to the side. I might request a new clip and try it though.

One of the clip screws is probably tighter than the other. Same with the pivot, it just needs to be adjusted a little. Just fiddle around with it until it's fixed. You ain't going to break anything...

If you're concerned, send Benchmade an email asking for a new clip and they'll send you one for free clip.

If you just bought it, don't fiddle with anything! Send it in with a note expressing your concerns. I'm sure they will do the right thing for you, and NO, it should come to you put together with a typical Benchmade fit and finish.
Having said that, anybody can have a bad knife slip through the inspection once in a while. As I said, if you just bought it from a reputable Benchmade dealer, contact them first, but by all means send it in.
