I see where ya coming from and I have to agree it would be nice but I think benchmade was trying to stick to Silbert original design on the MPR.

It's also been said by Benchmade that they won't release any liner/frame lock folders with a tip up option, for liability purposes.

Benchmade's have been my main choice in folders. After getting bit by BRKT bug all have folders have been off my radar. I have always wanted a quality MonoLock (my Leek does not qualify) CRK, Bradley, Hinderer (I wish!) and now this one seems to be a must have. I prefer the 3.6 BM blades for use, but feel more comfortable with a 2.9 legality wise.

It's already been delayed!! End of March-April is the newest release date. It was supposed to be out when the new Benchmade Lum Onslaught was released but supposedly Benchmade decided to redesign the pocket clip on the Sibert MPR before release due to feedback they received at the SHOT Show. (At least that is the rumor)

Many of us are waiting on this one !!

I called Benchmade yesterday to find out if they had any kind of update on this one. I was trying to give one as a gift on May 1st and the guy said he did not think I would have it by then. He said they have not started production yet and were hoping to start getting them out at the end of April at the earliest.

Someone on another forum said they spoke to someone at Benchmade who told them they would start shipping the first week of April. Benchmade has really dropped the ball on this release date over a supposed pocket clip re-design.
