Besides CPK knives, whaddaya like?

Another Beauty Bob!:) How long have you collecting? Do you ever regret any of your purchases?

Martin, I've been collecting for probably 25 years. I'm sure that I've regretted some of my purchases from early in collecting. But the turnover in my collections has been more a consequence of a friend wanting something I'd had for years, and my desire to pass it on to be loved as much as I had loved it - or being given an offer that I simply could not refuse.
Another reason - I lost about 30% of my vision in one eye a few years ago and just knew, for sure, it would affect my collecting, not being able to see all the details of what I was collecting. It really affected me, at a time when I was about to receive a knife that Wolfe Loerchner had been making for me. I sent him an email and suggested he pass it on to another collector, but he actually stopped what he was doing and finished the knife (with 3 oz of 18k gold), suggesting that if my sight didn't return to normal, I could always sell it. A wonderful guy!
My sight got better, but never returned to normal. Here is the Wolfe knife below:

Edit: Oops, just realized I had posted this one several years ago, but whatever.

Wow!

That’s all I can think to say.

I am sure I am not alone when I say that I would love to have the guided tour through Bob's collection in person. I am also quite sure (but probably alone on this point) that I would still fail to really appreciate what I was actually seeing.

This would be a bad idea for me.
I would just stare and smile stupidly while drooling on myself and, eventually, Bob would have to call the authorities.

It would be akward.

One my favorite OG Busse.:cool: I know I’ve posted it before, sorry I can’t help myself.:p This is a Steel Heart 2 Variant ground by the boss man himself. It’s called the Fishy Variant. It’s got a sharp hollow ground top edge, and it’s pretty thin for a Busse.

Can someone with experience tell/show me the difference between the EDC and EDC2? And if possible a size comparison with the Field Knife?

The EDC has a more pointy tip, less belly than the EDC2. Also, I believe the EDC blade was a little thinner approximately 1/8” vs 5/32” for the EDC2. However, the EDC2 handle is a little thinner than the EDC. The EDC2 has a hand ground shallow S grind. The EDC3 is basically an EDC2 with a machined swedge, and no hand ground shallow S grind. I’ll post some pics in the CPK Photos thread.

I'm a big fan of Busse and at last count was over 180 of them. I also like a lot of other brands and companies, Zu Bladeworx is especially high on that list.

Lately I have been on a Tom Krein fixation, mainly the ones with larger than 3" blades which aren't always easy to come by.
