I had the opportunity to own this piece by John White for a little while, but I'm having to say goodbye :(

kills me a little bit to have to part with it

well, that's the reason it's gotta go. Money will be spent on this;

What a gorgeous knife! And by one of the best ever.

That looks noce, too.

But before I sold that knife, I think I would be parting out body parts and organs first and see how much I could get that way. :D

I imagine that a nice thing about being a knife designer must be that on a long enough timeline, exceeding any piece you own is a matter of time and dedication. Some consolation that in passing a work of art onwards, you can echo and build upon its excellence in your own work.

The best possessions are the ones that inform what we do, even after they're gone.

very astute. Up til this point, every dollar I've made from my cutlery related endeavours has gone back into having prototypes made, and purchasing knives that get the juices flowing. Fortunately I've been in this scene long enough to know how to not lose too much money on these purchases. In some cases, I even make a modest profit.

I see investing in these objects as a form of tuition. If only I could get a scholarship!

So what's that RV have under the hood for an engine ? 351, 460 ?

Looks in great shape :thumbup:

351. Only 80K km on it too

Wow that's great ! There's a lot of life left there, really good engine. Had a 351 in my 95 Bronco and in a 69 Mach that I couldn't kill. Was a transplant in the Mach though
Best of luck with it :thumbup::)

Doesn't look all that bad, I've seen much worse in cars/trucks I've restored.

Some working knives!
