Sure thing. There's no conflicting about it, but more like on the edge of keeping it or not. That didn't last to long because I already listed it. To me, it just doesn't have balance in it like the HDFK does. It feels like a little chopper kinda. Not my cup of tea.

Also, I did not have a HDFK when I ordered the SJTAC 7 and initially thought that it might compare some. While waiting the 2 weeks to get the SJTAC 7 I was able to score a HDFK. Having both of these together = no comparison to me as HDFK is clearly the winner. Don't get me wrong the SJTAC 7 is a neat knife, but not what I was looking for after having it in hand.

How do you like this? I might be picking one up. What tasks have you used it for? Obviously it's not a maul or felling axe, but how does it do with splitting and chopping in general?

Well, I only got it a week ago, and it's the depths of winter here, with several feet of snow on the ground, so I haven't had a chance to use it much, yet. I can say that it is very solidly made. I think it will occupy a good middle ground between a true 'hawk and a lightweight axe. But when I get the opportunity to put it to more rigorous use, I'll do a follow-up.

Just picked up a Meridian 3 from JW Knife and Tool. This one is in Magnacut Steel with Westinghouse Micarta. I just received it this week so I haven’t put it to use yet but so far I like it.

I don't have either of those, but I'm really liking this one. I'd like to get my hands on the Sparrow and Unmei as well.

I’ll have to grab a pic later but the Sparrow is SMALL and the Unmei is a similar length to the Utsidihi (from memory) but slimmer. The UCAP and Utsidihi are extremely similar.

Thanks - sometimes specs online don't tell the whole story, and it's always good to hear from someone who has handled them. The Utsidihi hits the sweet spot for me.
