Cool. Fondly remember mine. Here when dating my (now) wife, 24 years ago:

Once my bikes are moved, don't be surprised if I show up for a roadtrip :)
Nice! I bought mine in Alaska, rode it across Canada, then back across the U.S. to CA, up to WY and then back to Canada, then back to L.A. and now it is residing in my garage in ID. Sadly neglected these days, but that needs to change.

And I thought my 6,000 mile motorcycle trip was long. Well done Hammer67 Hammer67
Those were only the highlights. I put over 30,00 miles on that bike in two years. 😎

That was the second Beemer I had bought in AK and ridden across the continent. I used to guide for a moto-touring outfit in Alaska, and they would turn their bikes over every couple of years. It was a great way to get a good deal on a low-mileage bike that I knew had been maintained by a BMW certified mech.

My R1150GS has also been sleeping in the garage for too many years now... I quit riding for a few years after being hit from behind on my previous R850R (totaled) by a girl messing with her cell phone. Then I raced in a local sports car club for a few years at our local road-course track, hoping that would "scratch the itch", but missed riding too much and bought the R1150GS. But after a few more close calls with inattentive drivers around town, I decided that riding anywhere except out in the rural areas was just too risky, and the folks that I used to ride with also quit riding or moved away, so I just haven't ridden it for several years now. I should sell it, but I hate the thought of not having a motorcycle...

I totally get that. After numerous close calls myself, I have pretty much concluded I'm not all that interested in road riding anymore. I'm thinking of selling my GS and getting a light trail bike to explore the backroads and trails around where I live, something that will allow me to take light overnight gear.
