I was just informed it is a 10” wheel.Awesome! Do you know the radius of the hollow grind?
That makes the grind even more impressive because the transition pops like it's a 6".I was just informed it is a 10” wheel.
Absolutely fantastic! I love Phillip’s work. What type of steel is it?
Very cool comparison. Thank you!Ok I measured them. I used the SS SDFK for comparison, but I think the blade width is the same as the SDFK.
SS SDFK:
Width edge to spine 1 1/2”
Primary grind width 1 1/4”
Thickness 0.25”
Length tip to scales 6 7/8” (at the spine)
FBF Mid Tech Camp Knife:
Width edge to spine 1 7/8”
Primary grind width 1 1/4”
Thickness 0.19”
Length tip to scales 6 3/8”
This is actually a semi custom because it has the custom scales.
Although the FBF Camp knife is wider, they both have approximately the same primary grind height because the FBF has a lower saber grind.

I’m actually using my old JouFuu FBF Camp Knife sheath for my SS SDFK.

Ya know... if there's a Scrap Yard knife company, maybe Nathan could make a subsidiary called Creekbed Cutlery... for those Magnacut DEK3s with slightly wonky surface finishes?Big, big fan of this one..View attachment 2307157
Classic Busse beauty!I believe this is the knife on the logo, HHFSH.
Paired with some exquisite Chuddy Bear Leather.

duramax I’m not sad I sold the NFNO, it’s such an awesome knife but the ergos don’t 100% agree with me. The funds from sale of the NFNO turned into this Tan Res-C beautiful beast, the HOG Basic 8.

The ergos work well for my hand, I have large square palms and short-ish fingers. I wear an L-XL glove. The ergos on the Regulator's were bad for me...
Which sucked, I Really wanted to like it.
Something about the radius on the guard? I feel they are too large, too gradual. I've seen other posts about others complaining about the same thing.....I solved it by wrapping silicone tape, and adding split rubber tubing underneath it. Filling out the small handle. Now it's a full grip.
It's not so bad on the original size. But with the extra weight/torque from the larger blade on the Alpha, it's more noticable.
I skipped the recent Big one, knowing it would be even worse. Which sucks, cause they Look cool.
