Besides CPK knives, whaddaya like?

Really liking my new Buck 119 Special Stealth Run. I had a Buck 119 growing up I got when I was 14, remember paying $32 for it at Walmart. I had me a Lansky sharpener and I could get it razor sharp. But it would never hold an edge. After skinning one deer it was dull. Ended up selling it in my early twenties but I had notched around 50 or so notches in the leather sheath from the deer I had killed and skinned with it. Wish I still had it now just for sentimental reasons.

Really like the shape of this new 119 Special Stealth run and got it. Man is it sharp! Pretty sure it came from factory sharper than any other knife I have so far, (including Busse and CPK, Hinderer, etc). I think this blade could last me the rest of my days as a deer hunting knife, small camp knife. I know its not going to be as strong and I doubt I would baton with it. Dont think they have a full tang? But heck when I was growing up I used the 119, 420hc model and hunted and camped and never even knew what batonning was. I had a hatchet for that.

Point being are these other Busse, CPK etc models needed today? No but they are nice to have and I wont be selling them. The Buck 119 to me is still the king as far as a hunting, camping knife. Got this new one engraved with our last name to pass on to my son.

Well I mean yes I am always hoping for a zombie outbreak. I mean the Walking Dead zombies and not the World War Z zombies, those Zeds are way to fast!...

That is what my CPK and Busse knives are for.
I walk around my house and yard looking for a reason to use any of my CPKs. Gotta be vigilant! Gotta be on guard!

If a branch eyeballs me wrong.....BLAM! Dead meat.
If a door jam is a little too thick....WHAMO! Slim fast.
Oh, and if that sum bitchin' stump that won't go away pisses me off....KAPOW! Chop Suey.

No, no. I'm not a hero. Just doing what I can.😏

I recently noticed that my work has an unenforced policy limiting blades to 2.5".
Outside of a lapel dagger and a CS Tuff Lite, I didn't have too many that qualify.
I used this as an excuse to grab a Magnacut Launch 4 on Black Friday and tweaked the carry of an REK with an Ulticlip.
Not sure if this is what my work had in mind, but here we go.

Richard, can you send me the number to Human Resources and the campus police? We can't have your sort running loose among civilized, educated, cultured individuals.

🤣
I wasn't talking about the campus in MO. I've carried swords across that campus on multiple occasions. Nobody bats an eye. This is my other gig which is in a gov building.

Ohhhhh. I never paid attention to gov't rules. 🤣

I had fun asking the guys at the federal courthouse to run my Kit Carson Model 16 which was fully Titanium and Stellite 6K through the magnetometer and the wands for fun.

Then I told them..."See what I might have gotten away with?" (The wand worked...)

They told me to put it with my gun in the locker. (It wasn't any fun after they stopped letting us carry in court.)

Haha I got that, just being troublesome
I've never actually owned a G-10 or carbon fiber blade. Need to get one for those nights when I have to sneak under the wire and take out sentries.

Or my douchebag neighbor across the road. (Yeah.,.that's the ticket. He needs to be got. I'd probably get a reward.)

Can you practice in NC?

You wouldn't want me to
You're only the third attorney I've ever told I'd want to represent me.

The first was one that I'd gone up against a couple of times in federal court and he was a great attorney and was widely respected. Oddly enough, I ran into him here when I retired from the job and moved to NC. He had a second home a few miles away from where I live. Unfortunately, he took his own life a few years back. A terrible shock.

The second was an attorney that represented a defendant I had arrested, and who had absconded, in absentia. He did an amazing job given the limitations he faced.

The fact that each lost at trial was simply because the facts were against them and could not be overcome despite their talent and ardor.

Joking aside, I'd pretty much bet the ranch that you'd do a fantastic job if ever I required your services...which I hope will never be the case.

Do you have to pass through metal detectors or scanners en route? No? Then any of the CPKs will do (or the scythe. "I swear your honor, I was just clearing weeds and didn't see the neighbor walk up behind me..." 😅).
