Best 2.5 inch knife?

If you can carry a fixed blade, I'd guess that the Esee CR2.5 is the best, strongest and most utilitarian knife of this length.

The best knife is any you have on you while you left home. I guess they are small enough that you do not notice it and always have it. I do like the quote above, as I like the two is one rule.

Small Buck Vantage...2 ⅝" blade 420HC or S30V blade.

It’s a hair over 2.5 but the Spyderco Enuff is a great little fixed blade. I sold mine to buy an Aqua salt that I never carry.

I have a SAK alox bantam and the blade is quite exactly 2.5". That little knife is actually quite good, has 3.3" scales and looks as peaceful as a butterfly.
However, all daily chores can be done with it quite easily.

Gotta put in a vote for the Kizer Shard. Bought this knife just because I liked the black micarta and have been unexpectedly surprised by how much I like it. As a package opener/small task knife, it's awesome. The ergos are great, carries deep, feels solid, and flies open. And the micarta is every bit as nice in person as the photos. 2.25" blade.
